I would appreciate any feedback from those of you that own/shoot this rifle with the 24” octagonal barrel!
I do not own one but have ordered a couple for friends. My first take is the same as HPJeeps. Wood to metal fit could use some work, but the guns function very well. I have yet hear about either friend having any problem them. If they're happy, I'm happy. My two Rossi carbine have been reliable, fun and relatively accurate. However mine are 20 inch barrels. Wood to metal fit leaves a bit to be desired. Strictly utilitarian but very serviceable.
Congrats on the new 44 rifle. I have a CVA hunter. I love it. Especially the trigger. It's light. I checked it on my pull gauge. 1.75 lbs.
You've probably read that Rossi 92's have a reputation for tossing empties a pretty good distance.
An easy mod to fix this, and also lighten up working the action at the same time, is to replace the ejector spring with a lighter one.
The Century C-530 spring, available at your local hardware store or on Ebay, works perfectly and drops them at your feet.
Good luck with your new rifle!
