Me, either. A scam reporting site scores it 3/100.
Other gunboards are suspicious.
Primers in stock for less than double 2019 retail? My little heart went pity-pat but my suspicious brain took over.

Wait, 3 guns?

I mean.....be prepared and all that but wow...

I carry a single action revolver in the woods and don't feel undergunned at all

Umm, yep, two are my EDC "on person", not including a P229 .40 in my briefcase. Habit I guess. So in a way, the third .44 or .357 chest holstered is just replacing my briefcase holstered....lol.

I don’t think this site is legit.

I basically just got home not too long ago and looked them up on scam-detector.com. They have a trust ranking of 3.5/100. Thank's for the heads-up! Does either of you use another website to vet vendors?

Ok, so what should be the "ballpark" cost of large pistol primers? What is the typical "hazmat" charge on top of that?

According to my Speer manuals, I can use CCI #300 or CCI #350 primers in .44 special loads. Wouldn't the CUP increase when using the CCI #350 magnum primer? Will that be of concern? I was planning on using AA# 5 since I have several pounds of it....

Six rounds of 44 Spc from a 2.5" bbl vs. how many rounds of 10mm? 15? I'll stack the deck with the 10mm.

Get plenty of DA trigger-time on the Alaskan.
I believe hes not using 44 special for the bear problem, he wants 44 special to "practice" for the bear problem. Then he will use .44 mag buffalo bore for the actual bear. I'll take .44 mag over the 10mm all day especially if I might only have time to get off one shot.

Ballpark cost....$35/1000....but these days, whatever you can find em for
I'd stick with standard primers for Special and Magnum, and #5 works just fine in the Special

Wow! I guess the $200/1000 listing for CCI #300 is insane.....I'll pass.

It is. GoneBroker is gouger central. Look around locally and check (cant' believe I'm saying this) CraigsList for estate sales and moving sales. I got two bricks of Tula non-corrosive large rifle primer for $35/each from a pawn shop that had guns for sale but very little ammo. Those bricks came in with some reloading stuff somebody pawned and never picked up.

Great idea.....thank you!

I read through this entire thread and I have no idea what an "SIL" is. Could someone explain this to those of us who don't TEXT at all. Good grief - LOL.

Dave
Son In Law or Sister In Law. Also abbreviation for Silnet MN41 silicone tent seam sealer but, not in this context.

Just an observation, can you ready accuse a seller of “gouging” when they have a starting price of 1¢?

It’s all the sellers running the price up. Shill bidder accounts notwithstanding.

It seems the penny auctions often end up with higher final selling prices than those who start out with an initial high price. People let emotions get the best of them, after having bid 2 or 3 times to “win” an item, sometimes running a used run-of-the-mill item up to more than what a new one would cost.

The psychology is kind of interesting.

Lol...I kinda like it. But as with any tool, I believe it will do the job that I need it for. I still need to order the leather Diamond D Alaskan chest holster.

The REAL question now is how I shoot with it. I had no problems at all recently shooting a 629 6" using Magtech .44 mag 240gr SJSP. I was planning on reloading tomorrow, but now I'm tempted to try this out instead!

Lots of vids out there showing how to reload spent primers. Downside is the amount of time it takes, and they will be corrosive.

Wouldn’t do it for 9mm, but even pre-craziness cost of .44 special/mag would make it worth it imho
