Tonight I picked up a Ruger New Model Blackhawk with a 4 5/8" barrel in .357 Magnum with Stag grips. I got it at Bass Pro for $349+tax. I've never been a single action guy but that seemed like reasonable price for a gun in decent shape. Maybe I'll get to shoot it if ammo gets to be more available.

That’s a smokin’ deal!

I’ve been following Blackhawks on Gunbroker because I can’t find any at online retailers, and don’t live close to any gun stores.

Your gun would have been in the high 500s on GB, and then you would have had to pay shipping and FFL transfer fees, plus possibly a 3% credit card fee if you used one.

I would have jumped all over that Blackhawk. I like the grips too!

They also had what I think was a three screw Single Six that had some rust on one side of the barrel for $249+tax. The rest of the gun looked pretty good except for the hideous grips. I have my Dad's 1955 Single Six, so, I didn't buy it. Really couldn't afford either but felt the Blackhawk was worth a shot. Should have left the credit card at home.

Very nice. Looks like a good deal to me.
I didn’t realize BPS sold used guns. Do they have a set up like Cabela’s Gun Library now?

They have what they call "The Fine Gun Room". Mostly a lot of real expensive long guns with a good handgun deal thrown in here and there.

the ruger blackhawk and single six are built like a brick outhouse so it is highly unlikely that a used one would ever be “shot out.” great deal!

both my blackhawk convertibles came to me used from gb.com for about $350 each, and are my only 45acp and 9mm handguns. they wear pachmayr grips because they are shooters, not lookers.

Congrats on finding such a good deal. I've bought several bargains at the local Cabelas 'Gun Library' of used guns over the years (3 of them were Blackhawks) but it was still a lucky find. I think you will enjoy the Blackhawk. They are accurate, reliable and balance well. That shorter four and a fraction barrel is also very comfortable to carry.

But be careful: single action action revolvers can become addictive. As my wife observes any time she looks in the gun safe. :D

I have one in 45 Colt. Great guns.
Single actions are addicting.
Have a 1875 Remington clone, a 1873 Colt clones, Single Six and my Blackhawk

Makes me wonder what they paid the previous owner for it?

You definitely got a great deal. Congrats!
