That's old news. They introduced it a month ago. There's a couple of threads on going on it.

Yesterday one sold on GunBroker for $1125 sight unseen or held. People are desperate to get their hands on this gun.

You would think folks would have learned from the Solo to treat new Kimber releases with a bit of caution.

Especially with so many excellent equivalents available right now.

I have a mild interest in it..but I want to put it in my hands first. If it doesn't float my boat it gets booted before I part with any cash.

I know a lot of folks that own Solo's that are trouble free. I guess any manufacturer can produce a not so popular firearm... the Sig P290 comes to mind. The P365 that replaced the P290 gave them fits for a bit.

True, I’m leery of new gun designs to begin with and the last small Kimber non-1911 had that rep, I for one hope it’s a smashing success.

I also agree with the “in your hands thing” as I recently ran into a Ruger Max 9 and it felt positively huge in my hands compared to my expectation from reports. Can’t see any scenario where I’d prefer it over a Glock 26 (or similar sized subcompact from FN, or HK, or CZ or whatever)

Did this gun ever hit stores? There’s a dozen videos and a bunch of reviews from August 19/20th and I haven’t heard or seen anything about this new kimber until today.

I haven't seen one of these yet. Heck, I'm just now seeing some Springfield Armory Hellcats (which don't seem to be selling all that great) in the stores. But the SIG P-365 series seem to be selling well...

I never sat at the Solo table and have never really been a Kimber fan, yet own dozens and dozens of 1911's..

Yet this little gun has worked its way into my pocket.. surpassing many other "latest and greatest" in the deep dark corners of my safes.

Literally out of my pocket..Sorry Lighting sucks in the RV.

Is that the … EVO? Or whatever it was called? I did look at one of those when they were basically giving them away at the shop and it felt nice in the hand with a pretty good trigger.

Too big for MY pockets or I might have bought one.

Haha!

Don’t wear skinny jeans but I am blessed/cursed with thick thighs (muscled) and if I want pants to reasonably fit at the waist (including a size up for guns) and not look like a circus tent there’s not much room in the pocket, jeans or cargo.

I can make an LCP sized gun with a decent holster work OK, but even that is pretty obviously “something” in a front pocket.

Luckily I have no problem with just about anything IWB under a shirt so pocket guns aren’t necessary, just occasionally nicer when out with the kids or whatnot.

But I did like that EVO

Similar to the Hellcat or 365 with 12 rounds 9mm.

Nobody has yet posted "wouldn't want to get shot with it" or "better than nothing" like they do to rationalize marginal calibers. ;)

I was visiting my LGS yesterday and inquired if they had procured any yet. The clerk told me yes they had gotten two in the past week and that they had sold within hours of hitting the door. I signed up to be notified when the next shipment arrives.

One of my local shops had two Makos in stock, one sold as I was looking at the other one. I was rather surprised by how big it seemed compared to the 365 or Hellcat. It's got a slightly longer barrel and the whole frame seemed larger too. It did feel very good, liked the texture, too.

Both models had the CT red dot, not my cup of tea, but the sights themselves were good and the trigger on each of them was excellent. I'd love to shoot one someday, but it's not going to replace my 43X.

I stopped by my LGS and put my hands on the R7 Mako yesterday. All in all a very impressive pistol. Optics ready, I like that it points well, and has a nice balance. It has nice 3 dot sights, the rear were white and the front orange..not sure if it was tritium or not. The action was somewhat hitchy albeit relatively smooth. It has nice grippy texturing on the frame, it is comfortable to hold onto and everywhere it needs to be.

The down side is it's definitely not a real attractive firearm overall. The grip just doesn't work for me. First, it's a bit to small and when I sank the web of my hand into the beaver tail and wrapped my fingers around the grip it felt very uncomfortable. My fingers felt crowded at the trigger guard. The trigger is okay but nowhere near as nice as my Sig P365XL or my Shield Plus...It felt like it was a bit spongy for a striker fire, though it was very short and crisp once you hit the wall. The hitch I was feeling could have been the trigger safety tab. Lastly, there's no provision for a safety... that's definitely a requirement on a light triggered striker fired gun for me.

At this point I don't see this firearm in my collection. I really wanted to like it after reading most of the reviews, but it's not to be.

Thanks for your review. I'm quite interested in this myself. I have not seen one in person yet.

Yawn. Looks like every other G44578XDMLKQSHMELLCATP365XXLXXLL........

But, as Hollywood and the Auto Industry prove, letting other companies innovate, then jumping on the latest bandwagon is a safe business plan, so sure, why not?

At least they gave it an actual name and not just more letter/number salad.

It is becoming a nicotine condom commercial. Do you feel sexy & fully protected without lost sensitivity?
I'm patenting a 22LR last round where the guide rod is another barrel. Micro compact 13.5rnd capacity. Just when you thought 13 rounds was adequate. Wrong! Ohh, the protection! The ribbed grips are optional.
