Due to the nature of the California DOJ Handgun Roster, we still make an older version of the 97 B specifically for the California market. Check with your local CZ-USA Authorized Dealer for availability (SKU 01401).

From the CZ USA site.
Sounds like the CA model will still be made and sold.
The current version of the B and BD are axed.
The difference between the CA model is different sights and wood grips that is it.

Looks to me CZ just streamlined the 97 lineup of 3 different SKUs to just 1 that can be sold in all states.

I’m having a hard time confirming this. I go to the CZ site and I see the flier for the BD being discontinued, but the web site shows nothing on the 97B going away. If anything they still have the 97B up with options available on their site.

Discontinued 2022. The CZ 97 B is the big-bore brother to the CZ 75 B, the first CZ pistol produced in .45 ACP. It is operationally identical to the 75 B (SA/DA, firing pin block safety and magazine brake). Features include a screw-in barrel bushing, loaded chamber indicator and a double-stack magazine holding 10 rounds.

Discontinued 2022. Just as the standard 75 has a decocker variant, so does the 97. For those who prefer the heavy double action first pull, the BD model adds a manual decocker to help drop the hammer to half-cock.

Doesn't get any clearer than that.

Thanks. Found it independently on their site. Took some digging. Lots of discontinued models on their site.
