I thought that the Hellcat was larger than it is???? I may need to look closer at it next time I'm in a shop.
Yeah when I first saw them advertised in my head was the 3" XD subcompact, wasn't til I got a closer look that I realized just how small they are. The same foot print as the LC9s it replaced just a smidge wider.

I just added this S&W Model of 1913 (35 S&W caliber) to the collection. An interesting gun and S&W's first venture into autoloaders. It was not a successful effort for many reasons with less than 9K made. The gun has been relatively forgotten. Most folks never heard of it...even S&W fans.

Looks like you lost your ejector as well. Mine is missing too. I did like shooting it while it was in.
Did it still eject when fired? Most blowbacks will and only really require an extractor for clearing a live round from the chamber.

Sorry for taking so long to reply but the 1903 .32 DOES eject rounds. It functions quite well except for its accuracy. Anything within 30-50' is still going to be hurting, but they may still be breathing.

I meant the Astra.

Last week, while buying the M1913 a few posts up I noticed a minty Astra Cub (w/box) in the display case. Murphy strikes again! After searching for years I had found one at a gun show a month or so ago. I couldn't get it out of my head and headed to the shop today. The gun show Cub is already fielding offers and it looks like I'll end up with an upgrade AND a refund. AstraBox.jpg

Thanks again for your good eyesight and alerting me to the fact that my pistol was "defunct". :D

I did some searching on my own without a lot of success but 2 posters in another forum gave some good links and advice. I also got lucky in that the son of a gunsmith who did some work for me many years ago is now a 'smith himself. With his help, we determined that a certain part that had different names on those two sites were actually the same part. Jack First Parts had all 4 of the needed parts and I now have my pistol back. As soon as I get some dry weather, I'll test it out and see what happens.

Here's a picture of my front pocket guns. I have no trouble fitting a J-frame in the front pocket of my Wrangler jeans. Top left model 30-1 32 long, bottom left 431PD 32 mag, center top Beretta 950 25acp, bottom center RG 22 short, top right 442 bottom right 637. And no, I don't carry the RG. Its there for a joke. I have shot it and at 10 feet the bullets are landing sideways but close to point of aim.

I have other almost pocket pistols that I consider border line too big for front pocket carry. A Ruger EC9, Walther PP 32acp, Sp-101 and a S&W model 36-6 with 3" barrel. But they all work OK in a back pocket but are much better as belt guns. One thing I noticed in my picture is, I don't have enough pocket guns, especially autos. I gotta fix that. ;)

I do have a old Chief's Special revolver but that is a full size cartridge.
I see I should add this disclaimer.
I do not carry any of the .25 ACP pistols for self defense. I just find the designs and history to be fascinating.
A S&W m36 (2 inch) is the only gun I carry as a normal pocket pistol, although with the right - loose - trousers I can get a three inch Model 10 (round butt) or a Colt Commander to fit at need. Usually I carry a outside waist band holster. Yes, it is sometimes hot dressed that way, but I carry for effectiveness, not comfort primarily.
