Not sure how this happens

So a week ago my granddaughter ( the gun parts thief) and I went to sight in her deer rifle. A savage axis muddy girl that her step dad bought her a few years ago. Found out the cheap tasko it came with scope was bad, went to replace it with a Nikon I had, and found out it has really wide spacing between the 2 piece mounts. so started looking for a 1 piece or a rail. Somehow that turned into ordering a new boyds at1 stock, a timney trigger, and a pic rail.
