Revolver or Auto, one pick only.

Revolvers:
1) Heritage Rancher 16” barrel 9 shot conversion .22lr/22wmr with custom wood foregrip - plinking, small game hunting
2) Charter Arms Professional 3” barrel 7 shot .32 H&R magnum - conceal carry
3) S&W Governor 2” barrel 6 shot .45 colt/acp, .410 shot shell - home defense/hiking carry

These 3 revolvers meet all my basic needs. Full size .410 shotgun covers the rest.

Ruger 7.5-inch Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in .44 Mag
Ruger 4-inch GP100 in .357 Mag
Ruger 5.5-inch Single Six .22LR/.22WMR convertible

UNFAIR, UNFAIR!!!,

I would go with 1 revolver and two pistols, but if only semi-auto pistols, then it would be 1. BERETTA 92X Compact. I think this is one of the best pistols I have ever shot. Reliable, powerful and yet still compact enough to conceal carry. 2. A S&W EZ .380ACP pistol. It truly lives up to its name and is very easy to shoot, clean and operate with my wife who suffers from arthritis in the wrists still being able to use it. 3. GLOCK 42 for pocket carry. Easy to shoot for the small size and lightweight of the gun. Vert reliable and will not rust when carried close to the body.

I would still want a .22lr pistol in addition to the above.

Single Six Bisley in 32 H&R with a complement of 32 S&W and H&R. For plinking, trap lines, and small game.

Colt New Service M1917. For general purpose self defense.

8" Super Redhawk in 44 mag. For hunting larger game. I dont have this one, but do have an equally fine Interarms Virginia Dragoon in this configuration.

I see most people included 3 wheel guns, and 3 semi guns. I only have two that I would buy again if needed. The Sig p226 9mm and the browning super 9mm. Darn fine guns. I carry the Sig., Big, heavy and accurate.

And to think I only put revolvers, so I better add my three semis:

A 1911 in .45 ACP
A Kel Tec P32
A Beretta Tomcat .32 ACP

I already have these so am in great shape there.

I keep two Brazilian Contract 1917s with several loaded clips in quick open safes just for home defense.

I keep my US 1917 with a loaded moon next to it in my keypad safe too. Though there is a AR 7.62x39 pistol ready to roll in the same safe...

The New Service is my favorite line of revolvers. Classic lines, good feel, and enough stopping power for most things.

Amen! I love my New Service! I carry it in an El Paso Saddlery pancake holster, and it conceals nicely under an untucked shirt. It'll also drive a semi-wadcutter clean through a deer.

I carry mine in an old well used leather holster that i dont know the make of. Its too big to carry every day where i work, but i have carried it in the prairies and at over 11k feet in the Rockies.

My actual New Service doesnt get carried...its too nice. 1923 model i believe, in 38-40. And it looks like it was made last week.

I have one of the Brazilian 1917's, and its a shooter, and a fun gun to shoot. Young man sights on that gun. :)

I also have an older 4" 625 in 45acp, and its even better, and would be my choice between the two.

OK then. Now it's my turn

S&W 686 plus 4"
Ruger Single-Six® Convertible 0662
Kimber K6S 357 Magnum 3in

Revolvers:
Striker 12 - 12 shot revolver 12 gauge.
Gp100- 3" Wiley Clapp .357
S&W 642 .38 spl

Without the indication of the use of then handgun, I cannot answer the question.

For self defense, I'd choose an H&K P30SK with either a V1 or V3 trigger and S&W Centennial for concealed carry. Things would depend on the carry needs for the task at hand.

But, hunting or back woods protection, a revolver would be more appropriate. An S&W Model 27 or 29 or a Colt Python or Anaconda depending the anticipated animals.

There are circumstances where I'd want a 45 ACP 1911 24/7.

There is no one situation where on "shoe" fits all.

Here's the rules, they're really simple.
You can pick either the Revolver category or the Auto category. And you can pick three guns from that category. What would those three be?
I'm a revolver guy first and foremost. I like autos, but I am a wheel gunner at heart.
1. Ruger Redhawk In 5.5in barrel 44 mag
2. S&W 686 no dash 4in 357 mag
3. Ruger Single Six 5in 22lr
Hunting, defense and plinking I am covered. All 3 are proven winners and are rock solid performers.
Semiautomatic
1. Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 in 45AARP of course.
2. CZ 97 in again, 45AARP (Wish they still made them, cause I'd love to have one...)
3. Walther PPQ 22lr with a threaded barrel and suppressor for cosplaying as James Bond lol.
