Houston folks....Is Collector's Firearms a good place to purchase from?

Been there a few times (old location)…never have bought anything. If you want it, they have it! The selection is outstanding.

Good place to buy from. Prices have climbed quite a bit since they moved to their new bigger location.

Buying from them typically includes a 12 month “warranty”, whether used or new.

Sometimes they drop prices by 10-20% about twice per year. They may do it again for Thanksgiving Black Friday.

It’s a huge Gun store, even their old smaller location was huge. I’ve bought new and used from them in person and have zero issues.

Yes, it has a huge inventory of new & used guns…and lots of military stuff. Fun just to gawk at everything.
But a bit on the pricey side.
I bought this Colt commemorative at the old location about 15 years ago.

My friend has bought a few antique collector's guns from them & has been well pleased. He always waits for the twice a year sale though, as they tend to be pretty high with their prices.

One of the best gun stores in the state. You want it, 99% chance that they have it. I would definitely rather buy from them than gunbroker. As putting my grubby mitts on the item is worth an uptick in $.
They typically don’t try and hide stuff in pictures or descriptions.

For me, I always like to visually inspect a used gun... But it doesn't seem like you have anything to worry about.

Are you referring to Simpson, LTD in Galesburg, IL? They go by Collector Firearms. They are good. Sold them a few, bought a few. Lots of variety.

I was going to say that their listed pricing is “California Compliant” for sure. Those numbers are what I see on used guns in LGS counter cases here behind the curtain.

They have a lot of cool things though. Wish I was close enough to pay them a visit.

I purchased my .25 ACP Walther TPH from their old location while on a business trip to TAMU in 2016 and then had it shipped to my local FFL. I stopped by the new location this past July, and the sticker shock was huge. I also noticed a few errors on the hang tags, including big ones like correct chambering.

I figure their current price increase is mostly based on paying the lease/mortgage on the larger building they moved into during the pandemic. Another part of the increase is likely wrapped into the 12 month warranty included with each new or used gun now. I don't remember them having such a warranty at the old place.

I've bought 2 guns from them before the move and 3 guns from them after the move. Always a "pre-owned" specimen and all but one on the twice a year markdown sale. I buy new guns elsewhere.
