Democrats might want to take away your guys, yeah... but Republicans, they want to take YOU away. And I supposed you'll need those guns when living in a totalitarian Republican police state.
This is the kind of over the top, horse hockey that makes a rational debate so difficult. I am concerned with the possibility that some of the methods being used could be abused by a future administration and maybe this is a good argument against allowing them, even in war time. We can have that debate and not sound like paranoid conspiracy geeks. But I have seen ZERO evidence that this president wants to do anything but fight the war on terror. I know of no instance of any American's rights being abused by this administration.
What I do know, is that in spite of terror attacks in London and Madrid, terror cells uncovered from Germany to Canada to New Jersey, and weekly video taped threats from Al Qaeda, we haven't been hit again, five years after 9/11. If we had, the same Bush haters who scream about the Patriot Act would be calling for his head.
