"It would be pretty funny if the new owner decided to go to mexico for the weekend!"

No.
Would'nt be funny at all.

Wow, I've got to find a new place to buy my used cars. I once found a half box of .357 ammo, so I had to buy a new gun. If I found a gun, I'd save money buy only having to buy ammo.:neener:

Seriously, I'd try to track it with the VIN.

My lady's State Trooper friend is working on it.

I'm not sure I'll get the Sig back, but he said "it will be accounted for." If it ends up in his hands, I'll get it back. If it goes through the system, it's hard to say. Maybe 6 months. Maybe never.

I went to the dealership and asked what they did with the car. It went to auction two days after I traded vehicles. I'm so bummed. If I were a woman; I'd cry.
Go ahead and cry you earned it.

I did the same thing with a Dan Wesson .357 a few years back.
I had to go service airplanes on the tarmac of OIA and didn't feel like going all the way home to put my gun up. So I stopped by the office and put it in the storage container of a disabled truck on the lot and forgot about it.
About two weeks later my boss called me on the radio and mentioned that they were having the truck towed off that day. After an hour I suddenly realized where I had left the gun. I got there as the tow truck was backing up to hook up. I had to get my boss to steer the three corporate big shots, that were hanging around because it was also the smoking area, away so I could sneak the gun out.

Most auctioned cars go to used car dealers if it is still on the lot maybe you can take it for a test drive and retrieve your gun,
If it is still in your area maybe you can just have your state trooper friend go with you in an unofficial capacity to retrieve the gun from the trunk.

Yes

Fellows, tracked the car down. Wholesalers sold it to a used dealer in Huntington, waited until they finished doing work I didn't want to do. Took her for a test drive. Guess what I found? LOL. Right where I left it.

Happy days. 4 real.

This is just unbelievable....you might be the luckiest SOB I've ever met.

You need to buy a lotto ticket today too. LOL

Ed

Holy smokes

Wow. My wife just asked what I was laughing at. Ditto what Esheato said.

Since this thread is back from the dead,my brother's father-in-law is a repo man and he can tell you some wild stories about the things he's found...:uhoh:

I'm glad you came back to post this, my heart sank as I read the first part... then I noticed this originated in January... I was hoping to read the ending that you put down. Congrats!!

Wow, that is pretty amazing. I'm kind of surprised it was still there, most wholesalers will check that area, since a lot of people will stash things there. I've found just about everything BUT a gun, unless you count those little toys that shoot plastic discs.

YoPedro, that was one hell of a funny post.

I've found just about everything BUT a gun

... 18 inch long black rubber....? =P

great for you submin... about the only thing better is if your p239 crawled back home on its own.

I Would Make Every Effort To Track It Down And Hope You Find That Gun Before Some Kid Does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........

Ditto's to you are the luckiest SOB out there! :D Scold mode on.

Don't do the Chit again! :banghead:
