Does anyone know if these pistols are ever going to come down in price? I assume because they are fairl new and not widely avalible that they will remain out of reach for most the average gun owner. Of course some of you "high rollers" on here could probably get one, or may even have one. From what I've been reading its a pretty darn good pistol, wouldn't mind having one for my collection but I don't have $2300 or so to spare:eek:

looks just like the new ArmaLite pistol, which looks like a mix between a CZ and a Browning HP.

more options i guess.

CZ clone made by Swiss, supposedly coming out with a 45 soon, also make the most expensive commercial .380 the AT380,

CZ75 was an improvement on the GP35, hold two side by side and it is clear.

Looks are deceiving. There is virtually nothing in the CZ's design that is related to the BHP. (Maybe just the Browning barrel lockup design -- but that's shared by most semi-autos.) Entirely different gun otherwise. No relationship, whatsoever. Compare a parts diagram and you'll see what I mean. The BHP is very simple, by comparison.

I have two of the older Sphinx 2000 series guns. The earliest Sphinx guns were true CLONES of the CZ-75 design, but they continue to improve them, and they're made with much more care and precision. They are among the finest production guns money can buy, with features of custom guns costing more. (Only my SIG P-210-6 was even close in terms of fit and general quality.)

I have three very nice CZs, and I really like them, but a Sphinx is to a CZ, as a Ferrari is to a Camaro.

(The top-of-the-line CZs, like their IPSC guns, are a closer match to the Sphinx -- but also more expensive than the standard CZs.)

You could also say the same about the Stg 43/44 and the AK47.

Quite different inside.

I looked at a Sphinx 2000 full size a few years ago at a gunshow. It was used, slightly, but looked and felt great. I wish I could afford one of them. But my Witness does 99% of what it does for a lot less, so I'm happy.

For America I can't say. But here in Switzerland
an AT-3000 sitll cost approx. 2400US$.
I visited the work shop of Sphinx. It's a quite small company and they don't have the equipment to do mass production. And we Swiss don't to do:D. But you get swiss quality for your $$$

Actually the Arma-Lite is a CZ clone made to look more like a SIG P210, which was an inspiration for the original CZ75's.

Here we go again...

How can looking at them side by side show that one is a clear improvement over the other? That's absurd, the internals are completely different. Not everyone thinks DA or TDA is an improvement over SAO.

???
I paid $350 for mine, a fair price if you ask me. Paid more for a Sig P232 and Beretta 85. AT380 is in fact nice weapon, but prone to ejector problems. Sphinx make good guns but have poor service in the USA.

Always thought they were less attractive than actual CZs, but I've a yen to try one out anyway. Be nice to take the Ferrari of the CZ clones out for a spin!

I've got two 2000s -- a compact and a semi-compact (DAO). They are exceptionally well made, very nice guns. As noted, they are semi-custom guns, from a small shop, with a lot of hand work -- which accounts for their price. I'm a big CZ fan (and active participant on the CZ Forum), but these are my favorite "CZs"...

I suspect the CZ's top line (the IPSC guns) are about as nice, and about half the price. But much bigger -- and if you want a concealed carry gun, the 2000s are better. The 3000s are handsome weapons -- but I've only seen pictures.
