I have been packin a PT-145 for a couple of years now. It has over 4000 rounds of both factory and reloaded ammo through it. It has never failed to fire on the first hammer strike. It shoots to point of aim and does it very accurately. It cost me $300.00 new and the dealer even threw in an extra mag. Now tell me how could I not love the aforementioned firearm. It is my 85% bug and 15% primary office carry.
I recently sold my Taurus Model 415 revolver. It was a 2" ported, 5 shot, 41mag. It was very accurate and dependable. I shot over 1500 rounds of hot handloaded 41mag ammo through it and it was as tight when I sold it as when I bought it. The guy I sold it to is carrying it as his primary CCW. He has put over 1000 factory rounds through it and is comfortable trusting his life on it. I don't blame him. Had I not shortened a 41mag Redhawk it would still be one of my guns as well.
My most recent Taurus is the PT-24/7 in 9mm. I bought it originally for my son as a Christmas present, but he wanted a CZ75BD Compact, so I kept it for myself. My wife has been shooting it and really likes the gun. She has put approximately 800 rounds through it. She had one failure about a week ago, when whe was trying some Wolf 9mm ammo, given to her by a friend. She had shot about 25 rounds when one round failed to go off and the extractor failed to pull it from the chamber. I ended up having to carefully tapping it out using a wood dowel through the bore
I threw away the remainder of the ammo and she has had no problems since.
Now my youngest son, 22yo. is shooting his first 1911....a PT-1911. I put 250 rounds through it before giving it to him for Christmas and I have to say this 1911 lover is impressed. I wish my first 1911 had all the bells & whistles this one has, was as accurate and dependable, especially for the price. I dressed his up with a nice pair of Goncalo Alves checkered grips I had in my extra's box. Needless to say he is very proud of his gun. He plans to use it for his CHL qualification next year.
Yes I like Taurus guns. They have served me well and are economical to own.
