Never been satisfied with drilling holes in a bench and bolting a press down. Once installed most presses never move again. Always intrigued with the possibility of a quick change system that gives more bench room if needed. Here's what I came up with, two rails of extruded aluminum recessed into the bench top that presses get mounted to. Composite bases are attached to each loader and accessory. Rail allows press to slide up and down the bench, then simply lock it in place by tightening bolts. Next step will be a stock and forearm rest that attaches to the same rail system for cleaning guns.

Cool. I'll have to consider that. I've been playing around with the idea of drilling and using bike-seat toggle nuts for holding them in place.

Neat idea, now you can do that with darn near anything you need bolted down to a bench top. Namely a vice or similar item to keep it still when you are are not in reload mode. Since my bench is in the garage, I have to multitask it once in a while because I'm an avid home improvement and wrench head type. I have to make space for whatever project I'm taking on. Currently, that's finishing molding and cutting up flooring for a room remodel.

Well...Ain't you handy!!:D Thats pretty cool, now just keeping spent primers and spilled powder out of there:)

Good point, a chance to use the recently installed vacuum and compressed air lines.

The more I look at it, the more I think I'd want the rails dovetailed into the bench somehow so they could not possibly lift out. You'd have to install them from the side of the table. Do they even make rails in that configuration?

p.s. I KNOW I've answered this in another forum somewhere......

Nice! I mount mine to a 1"x12"x36" board, and use Irwin Quickgrip clamps to mount it... that way I can take it to a buddy's house if need be.

I've heard a lot of people, myself included, blue-sky about similar systems. Kudos to you on getting up and doing it, looks outstanding.

WOW! Great idea! I love the flexibility and clean lines.
Please tell me the details. What are the extrusion and hardware called? Where do you buy it?
Nice antique Snap-On box to top it off!

Nice! I didn't want mine permanantly mounted either in case I needed to move them for whatever reason. Your Idea is WAY nicer than my Home Depot C-clamps... Oh well it works...besides, why hide my true ghetto-ness from the world, right? :) I'd only be lying to myself....besides, then it wouldn't match the rest of my jury-rigged, but fuctional and portable, setup.
When I finally get a house and build a nice big, sturdy bench, I may have to steal your idea. Here's a pic of my setup just to make yours look all that much nicer in comparasin....(yes, I'm jealous, I admit it...)
