Wow. So I know this is inspired by the shootings recently, and my views on weapon free zones.
I'm a pretty big advocate of concealed weapons permits, and I had a dream that made me feel even more strong about them.
I had a dream that I was going bowling (weird...I know) and that there was a sign on the door that said "weapon free zone".
So In the dream I Take my Concealed Carry Gun out, and lock it in my glove box.
Go inside, having a good time bowling. Go to walk over and look at something a few lanes down, and some guy is like 'HEY BRO! Why don't you stay away from our lanes"?
I'm like...."I don't know what your problem is, but I'm just walking through. Chill out."
Guy gets up and knocks me in the Ball Retrieving machine (the one by the lanes that brings your bowling ball back to you).
He then proceeds to stab me and I can count that he stabs me 44 times.
I, for some reason in the dream, had no power to fight back. Couldn't even hit the guy. Just got stabbed under the left arm in the rib cage 44 times.
I remember barely being able to breathe and the pain was super intense and sort of stumbling out to the front of the building, and noticing the "weapons free" sign again on my way out.
Horrible. I remember seeing an employee come running out to see if I was OK, and I remember yelling "YOU DID THIS TO ME! WHY WOULDN'T YOU ALLOW ME TO PROTECT MYSELF? YOUR WEAPON FREE ZONE DID THIS!!!!!!!"
I also remember being at the hospital and the doctor saying "It's better that you got stabbed and lived, than retaliated by killing or threatening someone with a gun! You're going to be fine eventually, but the other guy would have been killed if you'd shot him. It was a good thing you left your gun in the car. You should probably get rid of it, because it's only going to make situations like this worse".
I remember feeling like I was crazy in the dream.... like I was the only one that saw the need for the protection. I dunno...that's all. It was horrible.
It was a scary dream, and I woke up feeling edgy.
I don't usually remember dreams, as I suffer from pretty bad insomnia, so it was strange to even have a dream at all. I maybe have dreams 2 times a year! (I mean I know you have them multiple times a night, but I never rememebr having any when I way up, if I even slept in the first place)
