;) Word has it that yes they are good. I'm interested in picking one up at the right price also. I have a CD 1911 Superior which is a great shooter and the company service is very good. Good luck with your search.....triguy

Understand that FEG, the maker is no longer in the business, and down the road, parts might be iffy. I do not know how well they match up with the Browning - FN parts tho.

Just absolutely excellent guns. Mine has over 1K rounds through it with nary a bobble. Fit and finish are excellent.

I have seen many posts on these guns.
Many say they were all FEG made guns but we had some of these in the shop that were Argentine made.
Both the FEG and the Argentine Hi-Power clones are decent if not spectacular versions and will serve the shooter quite well.
About twenty years ago I owned a Hungarian made FEG clone Hi-Power that I deliberately tried to blow up without success.
The gun was well made, reliable and suprisingly accurate.
About fifteen years ago I owned one of the first Argentine Hi-Powers to come in for sale.
It was a little rougher than the FEG but just as reliable and not quite as accurate.

The Charles Daly Argentine guns and the Sarco Argentine "Detective" short barrel Hi-Power clones that the shop offers are a bit cruder in finish than my earlier Argentine gun but the overall quality of the machining appears a little better.

Charles Daly is nothing more than an Import name and they change their offerings about as often as most people change their socks.

Onmillo, sorry, but you are completely wrong about Charles Daly Hi-Powers. We have never put our name on any Argentinian guns. KBI has never sold any Argentine HP's, under any name.

I swear those pistols were Argentine but I will certainly not argue with the president of the company that imports the stuff either.

Maybe I just have the two brands mixed up because the shop had FEG pistols and Argentine pistols from Century Arms and Charles Daly Hi-Power pistols AND some Indian produced copies of the Inglis Hi-Power that came from Southern Ohio Gun all at the same time.

Just the same neither the FEG or The Argentine pistols are what I would call bad guns.

As I am sure Mr. Kassner will confirm, the CD HPs were built in the U.S. from FEG parts. They recently stopped production because they could not make money on them at the price point they needed to be. That measn if you see one out there for under $400, buy it.
Mine is one of my favorites. I tried to order a 2nd from CDNN but they are sold out. Centerfiresystems.com has FEG brand HP for $249 right now. Probably works fine, but probably also not quite as fine a gun as the CD.

Rex B, Did you try recently? I just got my copy of the CDNN catalog (Volume 2008-1) in the mail yesterday and they have the CD USA Hi-Powers on page 7 for $289.99. I guess they could have sold out of them between the time the catalog went to press and when they shipped the copies out to their customers. I was sort of eying them myself, oh well.

I just called CDNN and they have 60 of them in stock.

Thanks! Thanks a whole lot!

I could have really been fine without knowing that. This is going to cost me.

Well....really, thanks for mentioning it, I think.
