My Plum stocked Bulgy '74 I built from a kit (need to redo on a 100% receiver, not totally happy w/ the results from my bent blank build):

My SAR1 that I refinished the metal and wood on, love it:

It really bothers me what the mass media and ignorant politicians have done to our lexicon.

An "assault rifle" is a select fire intermediate caliber rifle.

An "assult weapon" is a made up gun-grabbing political term, based upon absurdly arbitrary definitions.

And, now we have people on a gun forum calling an "evil looking" semi-automatic an "assault rifle", even though it most certainly is not.

Frank:

LOL, I just noticed that. We get a lot of those wolf spiders in the basement back home. They range in size from about the size of a quarter to a few inches across. While .223 is always argued over in regards to its stopping power, I'm sure it would be more than enough for a spider:)

welcome to thr. nice set ups you have there. btw i don't own any "assault" rifles, i own semi auto matic rifle that iuse to do paperwork at the range and train with.

I don't have an "assault rifle" and probably never will, but I do have this very nice sporting rifle.

I really would like to buy a VZ.58 but I'm pretty convinced on getting another 1911...

Local gun store, they're fairly common but fairly pricey too. My gf got it for me for christmas, it was about 150$

I was shooting +P hollowpoints with the stock at 50 yards hitting the paper, considering without it I would hit the paper 1/10 I thought it was a big improvement.

These are all tecnically weapons that can be used for assault, and they all have rifled barrels:

To the people criticizing the thread's title - I agree that "assault rifle" is a term that should be avoid, but not because it has a precise definition that's being used incorrectly. The second assault rifle ever designed was a semi-auto only.

The term should be avoided because its definition is imprecise, it is a political hot-button, and it causes endless semantic debates.

M1A Scout

SA M1A Scout w/ Leupold 2.5x Scout scope
- pretty handy in the woods for hog and deer hunting. Got an AAC 762SD waiting in the safe for whenever AAC gets the M1A/M14 suppressor mounts out.

I don't own an "assult rifle", I do own a few "Sport Utility Rifles"... but Ted Kennedys car has still killed more people than any of my personally owned rifles.
