Jeez, maybe I'm just lucky. I have three RIA's and they all function perfectly. I absolutely trust my Compact model, it's my little buddy that goes with me everywhere. It's the most fun to shoot too!
 
Mine has been outstanding. I paid a little over $300 new.

I have a RIA .45 1911A1, and it is my personal carry piece. I trust my life with it, and would recommend them to anyone. I have three friends who all have them, and one of them carries his daily.
 
I have been considering either the RIA Tactical or the Taurus 1911B. Trying to stay on topic, why is the RIA better/worse than the Taurus which costs around $100+ more?
