OK I did a search and did not see what I was looking for. So do any of you pocket carry a G26? If so, do you do anything to help "cover" the trigger like a pocket holster? Do you not have one in the chamber? Not sure how I feel on this topic and would like to see some other opinions.

I think there are a few pocket holsters available for them but unless you have huge pockets it's too bulky for that role. DeSantis makes the nemisis in a size that'll work.

There are holsters out there that will cover the trigger effectively (Google 'Glock 26 pocket holsters'), but I have found the Glock 26 too thick and bulky to comfortably carry as a true pocket gun. If you choose to do so, I think pants with large, deep pockets or cargo pants with deep side pockets would work best.

In my opinion, you'd be better off carrying it using another method, or choose a slimmer and more svelte pistol that is better suited for pocket carry.

I don't think this is a truly viable pocket gun.

I had a 27 (same gun but in .40) and tried front pocket carry with an Uncle Mike's holster. Even in a large cargo pant, "relaxed-fit" jean or carpenter jean pocket it "printed" considerably; although not obviously a gun, it looked much like a thick paperback book, very blocky with obvious square corners. It was also somewhat awkward to get a good grasp on for drawing; I had to dig and claw at it with my fingers to remove it. In any smaller pocket it would have been hopeless.

I've seen people do it.

First thought that comes to mind is, "That looks like it hurts."

Second thought that comes to mind is, "That's definitely a gun in his pocket."

By the time you are wearing a garment big enough (winter coat?) to comfortably carry a pistol in the pocket, why not just carry it in a proper holster?

I carry a 27 in a fanny pack(and small holster). Maybe not the best. I am thinking of switching to an SA-XD but I have had good luck with the 27.

I sometimes pocket carry a G26 in a DeSantis Nemesis holster. I am an average size guy. Not with tight jeans but seems to work fine with Dockers or equivalent. You can break up the outline by stuffing a handkerchief around it. My G26 has a 8lb trigger and I carry one in the chamber without problems.

Seems this is not very popular but it works for me.

I also carry a G26 in a Nemisis. Usually in cargo shorts/pants in the cargo pocket. Sometimes in the front pocket, strong side...but just with the really big pockets.

It also works well in the "napoleon'' pocket of my winter coats.

I have tried it. It's summer, I'm wearing cargo shorts, they have big pockets and heavy fabric. I also have a Nemesis. It worked, and I felt much better armed than with the snubbie, but I did have to cinch the belt up pretty tight to avoid "sagging."

I have been carrying a G26 in the front jeans pocket for 3 months now. Uncle Mikes pocket holster covers the trigger fine. But it is not quick on the draw. The holster pulls with the gun upon drawing. I will have to try the DeSantis pocket holster next.

I have zero issues with carrying this way. I also carried a SP101 for almost 8 years. Most times one on the hip another in the pocket or ankle. I have never been asked for my ccw permit while pocket carrying these "supposedly" "big" guns.

You just need jeans with big front pockets. I have not tried to pocket carry in dockers or Khakis though.

I have pocket carried my Taurus pt111,which is about the same size(but weighs less)Nemesis or some othe rpocket holster is recommended. It requires big pockets ,a sturdy belt,and/or susspenders for me.Some can do it,but not the skinyy, tight pants crowd.

Glock 26 in a no name pocket holster I bought off of e-bay a couple of years back.

There is always one in the pipe!!

I've carried my G22 at times in my back pocket while woodsbumming or fishing, but honestly, I don't really feel comfortable pocket carrying any Glock without a pocket holster.

denfoote thats too funny, i have the very same holster that i also got from ebay that i use for my g26 and 642

Yes. I just bought a Don Hume pocket holster for my G27, and it works quite nicely. You just have to wear the right type of pants. Khakis and jeans work, suit pants do not. When I wear suits, I've got to go with the ankle holster.

I do so wish Glock would make a single stack version of the 26 and 27, but I digress.

Check out the thread regarding this in the Holsters section of the general handgun discussion folder.

Glock 27 in a pocket holster for years now. I am a larger fellow, but it really does not make that big a bulge in any of the pants I wear. I prefer the 5.11 line of clothing. My wife and close friends have to ask if I am carrying it, and trust me, none of them would spare my feelings if I was printing. It is as comfortable as having any serious gun in your pocket. I also carry other guns in pocket holsters from time to time but mostly the 27. I wore out my first Nemesis and just replaced it with their new model with the detachable square panel on it. Works even better than the first one did.

The best advice I give my students, and I don't remember where I stole this, is that "carrying a gun is supposed to be comforting, not comfortable". Best of luck with your Glock and the real thing is to find the method that you can live with so you carry it all the time.

Too big, too heavy, and the Kel Tec P11 has a much more pocket carry friendly trigger. That was my choice. The G26 I'd call an IWB belt gun, personally. It'd melt away in a kydex IWB, but in a pocket? Nah, not for me. Everyone has their own limits, though, I guess. I'd rather it be comforted AND comfortable. If you ain't comfortable, good chance it won't be with you when you actually need it. I carry 24/7, no exceptions. That comforting vs comfortable thing is just so much BS from big gun gurus that don't know what they're talkin' about. I have been comfortable and comforted by the P11 for a dozen years now. There are other guns, ya know. Check out Kahr for comforting and comfortable, too. You might not like the long DA on a KT.

I pocket carry my Glock 27 on really hot days when IWB carry would result in too much sweat. I have had good luck with BDU-style shorts. I obviously have something in my pocket, but my Uncle Mike's nylon holster breaks up the profile so it's not identifiable as a pistol.

As 2ndamd said, the holster comes with the weapon during a draw. I have trained to swipe the holster away with my left hand before assuming a two-handed grip and this seems to work pretty well.

I have pocket carried my G26 in a DeSaints Nemisis in my front and back pockets not the best for a glock. In the winter I will carry it in the brest pocket of my leather and dress jackets without much issue.

I prefer to carry my S&W 442 or 642. Hides just about anywhere any clothing any season without issue.

Thanks for all the great replies. One of the many things I enjoy about this site is the good information you can get. I do carry my g26 with a Galco IWB. And I tried it in some large pocket cargo paints. I just wanted some feed back from the group...thanks for the help. As always you folks rule.
