What is the most accurate pistol in the 4.8 in. to 3.8 in. range and the most accurate pistol in the less than 3.8 in. range ?

I'll go with the Sig P210 for the 3.8 to 4.8 range (about 4.72" barrel), entirely on its reputation...I've never had the pleasure of shooting one.

For shorter barrels, I think it's a tossup and that the problem typically lies with the shooter, thus becoming a question of what any individual shoots well.

Bbl length won't affect mechanical accuracy at all, that being said I second the Sig 210. Fantastic accuracy,.

Sigs are nice. My P226 is very accurate.

Rock River guarantees their 4.25" 1911 to shoot 2.5" groups at 50 yards.

Les Baer's standard 4.25" model is guaranteed 3" at 50 yards and I believe you can get purchase the 1.5" option that is available on the 5" guns.

So far the two most accurate handguns I've shot (rentals) were the Sig Sauer P226 and the Kimber Custom II.

my guess is that most will shoot where they point. I go into the deal expectin it to shoot straignt. Of more importance to me is the reliability.

A gun that shoots straight but doesn't fire is a useless paper weight. One that fires every time the trigger is pulled is most important.

Spoken like a true Glock owner. Ever shot an M&P? :D

The amazing thing about Les Baers is that they are very accurate and very reliable. Sure they cost more than a Glock but if you want accuracy.....

CZ-75b

Edges out my SIG229 (which is damned accurate) and runs equal to my 5" Security Six revolver (and that's saying something!)

12 rounds, 45ft, two-handed, freestanding (and I was having a good day)

...

The 2 most accurate guns I have witnessed excellent shooters, shooting, anytime, every time, at my range, is either a 1911 or a CZ..

What do both have in common..?

All metal.. i.e. steel

i can't say the world's most accurate, but my cz-40b ain't bad for $250 used. friend shot it and put 3 of my handloads in the same hole (literally) on a big paper target at 50 ft.

I suspect my SIG 210-6 is the most accurate out of the box auto I have shot. The S&W 52 should be good, as well as the SIG 226X5.

My Dan Wesson 744 may be the most accurate revolver I have shot. I suspect my S&W 627-5PC and 625-8JM are close.

I am sorry but you guys are all on crack:) I cant believe no body has mentioned the two most accurate handguns ever produced, bar none.

1) HK P7
2) HK P9S

Out of my collection the 2 most accurate are the SIG 226 X-Five and the HK P7. I also have a P220ST that's not too far behind those two.

most accurate pistol

you people will not believe this, But I did this shooting last month.
All shooting was done off a rest at 10 yards, all ammo was the same load, loaded from a Dillon 550B. The 9mm bullets were FMJ 124gr. with 4.4 gr.s of WW231.
CZ Champion in 9mm 2 to 2 3/8 inch groups
CZ TS in .40 1 1/8 inch group
CZ SP-01 1 1/2 inch group
CZ P-01 1 1/4 inch group
CZ 75"D" (pcr) 1/2 I couldn't put my little fingure in the one little hole.
CZ 85's (one 85 and two 85 combats) all three would shoot 1 to 1/2 in grouips
CZ 75B's, two in 9mm ,one in .40 the 9mm would shoot 1 1/2 groups the .40 only a 4 inch grouip
CZ 40B .40 cal. 3" groups
Argentina High power clone 9mm 1" group
FEG High power clone 9mm 1 1/2" group
serbin Zastava M-88A(3" barrel) 1 1/2 " grouip
spinx in .40 2" groups
AT84S in 9mm 7/8" group
The CZ 75 "D" has a 3.9 " barrel.
it was the most accurate out off all the pistols out there.
Note: these are all automatics
I have other revolvers(all "N" smiths) and they are more accurate.
as in .357, 41 mag. 44 spl. and .45 LC
one of my .44's was put in a ransom rest and it shot a 1 1/2 grouip at fifty yards(5 shots) And yes, I still have that pistol.

HK P7 series, P7, PSP, P7 M8 and P7 M13.

All are very accurate, very easy to shoot, point very well and have a low bore axis.

They also have a Cult like following.
