I think the new wheelie will be ok, but then they did let me down on the P345 big time. So, I vote on 1 year for recall.

Well, it surely won't be a recall in 3 months; we're dreaming the big one if we think we'll see that many out on the street in 3 month's time!

I personally don't think that there will be an issue with this one, for many of the reasons already expressed.

"Ruger's last two handgun releases were complete flameouts."

Well isn't that just super..... predicting doom of an AMERICAN made product BEFORE the public has a chance to handle it.... truly amazing.

Recall fears? I plan to buy one as soon as they come out. Kind of exciting and new future revolver.

I wish they would of gone with a small 9mm instead of the LCR, but i guess it just prove what I been thinking for a long time after people who are new to carrying goes thur thier phase of dressing around a big weapon, what if you attack by a band of thugs and things like that. A lot of people go to the small 5 shot .38. Which is for the most part all one needs. I think Ruger study this and wanted some of the action, not handling one yet but keeping Ruger in mind I'm sure it will be a fine addition to our choice of carry options. If it is given a recall down the road big deal some things just don't come out till you get the item in the general public hands.

be safe

What are you talking about? The quote you posted had no prediction in it. It was a statement of past events and had no forward looking aspect at all.

Orchidhunter- Please take a few minutes to come up with some new material. You've used the "uncompensated beta tester" line and a few of your others about 15 times now. We get it.

a "Flameout" would be associated with non-success, a failed attempt (which neither guns are/were).
So your post looking for predictions about when the new LCR will also "flameout" (be recalled) is what I am talking about. I hope that explains it for you. Using a  (= sarcastic) or ;) (= wink) may have made your post clearer as to the "tongue-in-cheek" reference you made AFTER the original post.

There are subtle differences between the LCP and the Kel-Tec. If Kel-Tec wanted private domain, they would have patented it. Also Kel-Tecs are notorious for FTFs. Ruger LCPs don't-simple as that. That's not the issue here. The issues are that Ruger acknowledges there is a problem with inherent design, whereas Kel-Tec won't even admit a problem-much less recall them! I see Ruger's last 2 handguns already vast successes, look at sales and backorders.

Oh, yes...complete flameouts...despite the rave reviews and RIDONKULOUS sales. Absolute failures, the lot of 'em. lol Anyways. Ruger us an adaptive bunch of folks. They know they're on thin ice since the recalls happened (could have just as easily denied the issues, BTW). Something tells me the R&D crew were made well aware that there can be NO MISTAKES in the production of the LCR. The painstaking attention to detail that was no-doubt exercised on top of the simpler basic mechanics of revolver design will in all likelihood prevent the necessity of any recall. Show me how many polymer revolvers have been produced, and I'll give you a better researched answer. It's called a lack of precedence, I believe?

Ruger's polymer revolver will find a place next to S&W's stainless steel J-frame in handgun history. orchidhunter

BTW- I own three Rugers and you act like I just kicked your dog. Relax.
I own six, two Blackhawks in .45 Colt, an MKII .22 automatic, two M77s (one in .30-06 and one in 7mm Rem Mag) and a 77/22M in .22 WMR.

But I have no urge to buy an LCP.

The only thing I can see going wrong is the gun simply exploding. It's not like Ruger doesn't know how to make a revolver which spins a cylinder and strikes primers.

My point is, the cylinder looks emaciated.

Nevertheless, I suppose if a company's products explode during proper use, SOP would be to recall it. That applies to everything from teddy bears to hammers.

That being said, I hope it works out. :)

Sweet post altitude 19. I posted earlier that I didn't like the trigger but I think Ruger has a winner here. Ruger does know revolvers and the LCR will be a hit.

Hi,
I voted for:
"Won't get recalled"

It will probably work fine. However, I keep looking at that gun and all I can say is: "Damn that gun is ugly!"

between 4 to 6 months...

I am not a Ruger hater; I currently own 2 of their revolver products and I have owned several more of their revolvers and a handful of semiautomatics in the past; I just think that the post-William Ruger designs made too many changes too quickly and their last 2 polymer framed products have troubled beginnings

How Quickly Will Ruger Recall the New LCR?

It was meant to be tongue in cheek. Sometimes it is hard to communicate sarcasm over the web.

You are a brave man my friend. Not many people here can take a joke. :) I am a die hard Ruger lover. I have four of them (and counting) but none of them are polymer. Ruger is still trying to figure that plastic thing out. So when I see a polymer revolver it gives me pause. Not to mention the fact that it is BUTT UGLY!

I believe that Ruger has learned from the previous two dramas so they will probably avoid a recall. Having said that, I voted 6 months. I don't know, just a gut feeling.

I wonder more if it will actually be released at all. That seems to be the trend with gun companies lately. They hype something then no one ever sees it.

Ah, well this one has got some responses anyway. Granted I hate my LCP but I would put my SR9 against any other brand on this planet, bar none.

I've looked at the LCP and theP3AT side by side...
So have I, and the P3AT sucks in comparison. The fit and finish is lousy in comparison to the LCP. I bought the LCP and will never buy a Kel Tec.

Recalls are all too common these days. The PPK design is decades old and S&W managed to screw it up and is doing a recall on them now.

I am a Ruger owner but mine are all older models. Ruger hasn't come out with anything that has gotten my attention in years. They did come out with the Kel-Tec copy but I had already had my P3AT for years.

That might be why Ruger seems to be limiting production of first runs so much. Forgive the comparison but when new game systems come out (PS3, XBOX 360) they deliberately limit production just in case there are serious problems. Saves them money on a recall if it is needed and not as many people get screwed.

recalls for the new LCR

I highly doubt Ruger will need a full scale recall or have major issues with this new revolver series. DA revolvers are one thing Ruger does well. ;)
