Which Gun Feels Like It Was Made For Your Hands ?

1911, long trigger, flat MSH, rubber grips.

I had a mil-spec springer a few years ago. Before I had it paid off I had a long trigger (a take-out from a colt 1991A1), a flat MSH, and Kimber rubber grips installed.

Bought a bunch of parts for it. Never installed them. The more I shot it, the less interesed I had in modifying it. Of the guns I've traded, I miss that $450 pistol the most.

for me:
Springfield "GI-45"
Ruger Vaquero (2003 vintage), not the "New Vaquero" with the smaller grips
S&W Mdl 10 4" Skinny Barrel
Ruger MK II 4-5/8" barrel

Obviously, my CZ P-01, but also my CZ 82. Just feels so good.

And for such a small gun, my Walther PPK/s just feels amazing.

of the ones i own? my S&W Model 41. just point and shoot. NOTHING like my kel tec pf9 (which i also enjoy owning, just not so much shooting)

I fondled a CZ52 and a p64, both of which seemed to fit very comfortably. I will own one, if not both, before long.

I don't currently own one, but the top grip in my opinion used to be a 1911 with good grips and flat MSH.

I have since held a CZ 75 and am buying one.
The CZ 75 is tops for me.

Single stacked Sigs are also very good. Hi Powers too.
For a small revolver, the Taurus 85 is good.

It looks like 1911s and CZs are most popular in this thread with Sigs having a good showing.

At one time I had an old Remington bolt action 22 cal. I believe it was a model 511? Not sure as it`s been a long time ago. Anyway, that puppy
just seemed to jump to my shoulder and be pointed dead on. Sold it .
Stupid move.............:banghead:

While all the guns I own are comfortable and I have never held one I found particularly objectionable, I'd say the best in terms of fitting my hand was Smith & Wesson's M&P 40 I bought earlier this year.

Maybe comfort isn't the most important thing?
Maybe you focus more on fundamentals when your hand isn't 100% comfortable?
Holding and managing recoil are very different things, too. Perhaps you think about your grip when not as comfortable, and thus have a better hold?

I don't think I've ever held a gun that's felt like it belonged in my hands. Probably because I've got tiny, girl hands.

The closest I've come is my S&W 439.

Model 1911 (like many, I like the flat mainspring housing and long trigger) and the Colt SAA. Another winner is my 1938 Colt Woodsman.

I'd add the Luger, but I can't shoot a Luger. I get so fascinated watching the thingy go up and down that I forget to look at the sights.

Somehow a plain and simple S&W M65 with altered Hogue wood grips fits fits my hand well.

1917 DWM Artillery Luger or 1917 Remington model 51. Both are so artfully made that they become a natural self sighting part of my body in my hand. Recoil is dispersed due to the design of the semi-auto action. What little recoil there is goes through the wrist rather than upon it. With the shoulder stock holster and range sights the Luger becomes a decent carbine for distance. Both are extremely accurate in the hands of even a novice shooter.

STI

As much as I love traditional all-steel 1911s (and I have several), my IPSC Limited gun, built on an STI frame, feels best in my hand. I have very long fingers, so I'm guessing the double stacked sized grip is why I like it so.

Of course, the best fit is my Bullseye gun, a traditional 1911 with a custom grip by Randall Fung. He builds them to spec with a photocopy of your hand. Perfect fit though nothing you could put into a holster.
