Now that the law allowing guns into businesses that serve alcohol, what establishments have you noticed posting "No Guns" or have no posting. Looking primarily at Phoenix, but statewide is interesting too.

I don't do business with any store that has a sign that says: "No Guns", "No Loaded Guns". That is their right to post the sign and it is my right to take my business else where.

I spent the night in Phoenix, I was at the Hilton on Van Buren, there's a big old 'landmark' looking steakhouse, I went there because it was within walking distance of the hotel, and I noticed the 'no guns' sign.

I was unclear on AZ law, so I wasn't packing, did it change now that you are allowed to carry in restaurants that serve beer?

i live in az and havent had a problem yet.the way i see it is ,if my gun cant go in then i cant either.

Chipotle, some of the bar/restaurants in old town Scottsdale.

Personally I don't care enough to change where I eat, and I think that it's very considerate of them to post it out front so that I don't accidentally mosey inside to find out that I can't stay.

I don't want people who visit my house to be armed without me knowing it, and I respect business owners' right to decide the same on their property.

Public resturant that is privatly owned. I live out here in the Phoenix metro area and I have noticed some places posting no guns. It don't bother me much I just put my revo in the truck or go somewhere else. I support an owners right to allow guns or not, it is their resturant after all.

1702 Pizza on the U of A campus has it posted. I wanted to not go in, but since it's on campus nobody is allowed to be carrying anyway...plus their pizza is awesome and their beer selection is even better.

On campus or not, the new Arizona law say you can't drink alcoholic beverages while you're carrying and it would be a shame to have an awesome pizza and have to wash it down with tea or something.

Yes, it is their business and as such they can allow firearms or not. It is also my money and I choose not to spend it at ANY business that would deny my right to self defense.

"No Guns" zone = felon heaven.

My place of business is friendly to concealed carry, open carry, right to bear arms, right to arm bears, and everything in between.

Someone on this board has an business card that they gave to posting businesses explaining they won't be patronized due to their anti gun stance. I can't find it!

Like jr_roosa said, I've seen chipotle. That's it though. Then again, I'm only 18 and the law doesn't apply to me open carrying. When I was down on Mill Avenue, I didn't see any signs. I wasn't looking very hard, though.

I wonder if it is like posting "NO HUNTING"? I think that means no hunting by any one, including yourself. You have to qualify it, like without permission. I would hate to post "NO GUNS" and not be able to carry or have a concealed weapon in my own bar.

I vote with my wallet - if my gun is not welcome in a restaurant, then neither am I. Why would anyone want to spend $$$ where they are not welcome ? I hand them this card (PM me your email address if you want me to send you a printable version):

haha if that card is serious then its pretty awesome. I think its ultimately a dumb thing to put up a sign. Not for the business side of things, but the reality side of things. Good guy or bad guy, is a sign going to literally STOP anyone? Nope, unless there's a metal detector, then you're pretty much boned if someone has the intent.

Granted the business might be able to argue that the masses as a whole feel safer because of a sign and therefore make more money because people believe it to be a safe environment. The reality is most any restaurant is fairly safe sign or no sign, but who knows maybe soon enough we'll have massacres over a steak, got me.

There's the card I was looking for.

Too bad about Chipolte posting--I love their carnitas. But if word gets out they lose business because of their policies coupled with the present economy, may cause a change in policy. I think Lowes had a major policy overhaul/clarification after a manager posted at his store.

Think about it this way. There are those who are saying that they support the idea of a business being able to control whether or not guns are allowed there.

I have the perspective of living in a state which has a different law. The state, and ONLY the state decides where you can and cannot carry. A business can post a 'no-guns' sign, but it holds no force of law. A business owner may refuse service to anyone for pretty much any reason. If you come in with a gun in plain view, they may ask you to leave, just as they may ask ANYONE to leave. If you REFUSE to leave, you are committing trespassing, not a gun crime. They have no police powers to search you, and if you conceal correctly, they will never know. This is really win-win. The business owners don't have to worry about the horses getting spooked, and the law-abiding gun carriers don't have to make a crap-list of all the businesses they don't support.

There is a in-mall theater here with a 'no-guns' sign. I have ignored it and carried there frequently, because it happens to be the closest theater to my house. Then my conscience got the better of me, and I decided that I shouldn't support anti-gun businesses. THEN, I happened to meet an employee of the theater. He said that not only do the local management not care if you are carrying, a couple of members of the management have their permits and carry there frequently, since there is not a corporate policy forbidding employees from being armed on the premises. Corporate says to show the sign, and they do, but they have never turned someone away because they thought they were carrying.

Good news ! My local Chipotle took the sign down - it was there when I went in on September 30th, and when I went by there today the sign was gone. I guess my email to their management had some effect :D
