I am glad that you had good luck with your Kimber
It has been my somewhat limited experience that if it runs right from the factory it will continue to run well. It has also been my personal experience that if it doesn't run right from the factory, running 500 rounds through it is a waste of time and money depending on the severity of the problem. Don't get me wrong, I like my Kimber a lot. If it functioned as flawlessly as my Taurus I would LOVE it.
It seems odd, as someone already said, that you would spend close to, or upwards of, a thousand dollars on a pistol, then put junk mags in it. They may work for a while but the feed lips will wear or bend or they will fail in some other way. It is funny that you should say that you don't like paying for a name when, in fact, that is what you did by buying a Kimber. Remember, if a pistol is properly tuned and you have a malfunction, the problem is most often the magazine. Buy some Wilson 47D's or Kimber Mags and you will be good to go. If you have a $50 Tasco on your $700 hunting rifle then I have just wasted my breath.:banghead:
