Before I read this thread I didn't know who they were and much less that they made decent affordable 1911s. Even one in 9mm. Thanks for posting. Hi-powers are cool too. It is an interesting old gun with a rich history.

I'm in for sure. I would love an affordable BHP clone!!

Although I don't see how their 1911's can be so good and their Colt revolver clones are not known for near the quality.

Remember the Charles Daly. It was discontinued long before the demise of CD.

In general I would say clones sell very well. Ask anyone who has a 1911 that isn't a Colt. In the case of the HP, there really isn't an option out there to buy one anymore unless you want to spend a LOT for one. I would think now would be a very good time to market a budget minded HiPower. I would snap one up in a heartbeat.

The CDs were very well received by the people that bought them. The problem was there were still a lot of FEG Hi Powers in the market that were essentially the same thing and sold for a lot less. Actual FN and Browning HiPowers were also still in production. In todays market there would be very little competition for a well built HiPower in the 400-500 dollar price range. The only way to really find out is for someone, ahem Armscor, to give it a run and find out!

A close clone to a BHP for $600 won't sell, but $400 +/- mrsp, I do believe there is a good market with plenty of spare parts already around.

I said they didn't sell well and I offered reasons why and why a new clone may sell much better. What does your comment mean exactly?

Do a search online of what Hi Powers are selling for now. Even the FEG clones are selling for much more than they used to. I paid 225 for mine. I would like to see you find one for that price now.

Fegs do not interest me. I own 5 BHPs the last one I paid $525 for. Its a Pre T.... St louis rollmark Browning.

My FEG will do everything that one does and it has a MUCH nicer bluing. BUT I would love one like yours. Good find.

BTW. I had my FEG out last week and shot a few rounds through it. I was kind of laughing at the fact people just savage my M&P for not having as positive trigger reset as the Glock but I forgot about my HiPower. How about NO reset! It really felt weird. I short stroked the trigger many times in my shooting session. Darned nice shooting weapon though. SOMEONE has to keep making them. They are such nice shooters.

There are tons of BHPs out there in the used market for a very affordable price. People are just impatient and don't know where to look. IMHO

I have never paid more than $550 for a Hi power.

PS I doubt your FEG bluing even comes close to the shine on that Pre T although FEG normally have a nice bluing job.

I would love a Rock Island/Armscor Hi Power.

as the best ever HP clone. Like NORC 1911s the FEG HPs are real workhorses.
