Hmm. Why won't the software allow me to upload a couple of thumbnails just because I've already uploaded them on THR sometime in the past? :uhoh:

all fiberglass stock, as far as i know this is the only color it comes in.

Unfortunatly mine had to be removed along with the cleaning plug due the new stock, was very disapointed but the pistol grip was worth it.

Been debating some optics for it, weather to mount a red dot way up front on the rail (kinda looks retarded and out of place to me) or buy a new bolt cover with a rail already machined on it. I have the option of a side mounted rail but feel like it would mount my optics up to high.

What about compensators? are they a good inprovement and what do i do to install one?

General,

I liked that stock better than mine but i just couldn't sacrifice the bayonet lol looks awesome though, gonna mount anything up top

I don't have pic's of my SKS's any more.
Need to take a few.

1- Russian
1- Romanian
2- Chi-Com
2- Albanian
3- Yugo

You can never have to many SKS's. ;)

I bought mine in a monte carlo stock and went original with it.

Minwax "gunstock" stain, followed by 3 coats of minwax satin poly.

Nice rifle handgunner

I see cheap deals on Gunbroker for SKS's that have been put in a "tacticool"
stock.....

I like the wood myself

As a complete rifle it would have the cleaning rod and bayonet. To me it's just extra weight. I keep these parts wrapped and store away.

zyla, I imagine your Tula is worth 3 -4 times what you paid for it now maybe even more.

I like the fiberglass stock color and finish. Since my Norico SKS was purchased NIB in the early 90's it will stay in it's original configuration. If I aquired a beater I'd probably throw a Tapco composite stock on it. I'm still kicking my self for selling my Paratrooper that accepted extended rounds duckbill mags! Just turned the cash around for more ammo.

here's mine in full dress, 100 rnd drum for all day fun!

Have 3 20 round mags that make it a joy to shoot. Also modded the bolt to take magazines wether open or closed. Sweet Urban Carbine ! Now let's bring back cheap 7.62X39mm ammo LOL LOL !...WVleo

Beat up Sks

I just bought a old Chinese SKS, All the steel is in good shape. Are all tactical stocks interchangeable? Is there a differance between say... Russian and Chinese?

I believe any of the aftermarket stocks should fit a Chinese just fine.

As far as I know, only the Albanian SKS has any significant dimensional differences.

+1
the ATI stock fits my Norinco just fine. It is a little tight fitting the stock magazine, but it does fit. The Tapco removable mags fit great with no issues but I don't use them much. Stripper clips are faster for me.

I don't really get the desire to replace the stock on an SKS. Sure, the Norinco ones are usually a funny orangish color, but sand that down and refinish and it could look nice. I guess I think this rifle works great without a pistol grip.

Hope prices for these return to normal eventually. They were great starter guns back in the day. Kind of the Mosin of the 90's.
