I have read this thread at least a half dozen times, and couldn't fingure out what to post. I like it...makes me think. <<My wife says I should try that more often>> Alas, I drift.
I am having a dickens of a time trying to decide which one rifle is my most fun. I actually walked over, opened my vault and looked inside. I half expected one of them to jump-out at me. None did so. It seems that each has an attribute, or three, that really catches my affinity.
That aside, if forced to take a single rifle to the range, or to the field, I would have to take my Remington M700 Police, .308 Win. With its customizations, it weighs in somewhere in the range of 19ish pounds.
It is blistering accurate, and at the present weight, recoil? What recoil?!
I can turn the Nightforce 12-42X56 scope to 42X, and fire at a 300 yard target. I never lose sight of the target...the rifle just lays there, even under "recoil". It is so fun to watch the steel target react on my dueling tree.
Yeah, I guess I do have a favorite...for today. Tomorrow I may prefer my Winchester M70 Stealth .308 Win.
This is a very cool thread!
