most fun rifle for the $$?

I'll say the 10/22 or the SKS. Both are relatively inexpensive but have given me hours of enjoyment. The 10/22 is great for knocking cans off of fences and things like that. But the SKS has turned out to be a very inexpensive and effective hog rifle. And bringing down a 200 lb. boar is way more fun than shooting tin cans.

I really like a Marlin 39M or a 10/22 in 22lr BUT For me it is a Marlin 1894C in 357, fairly inexpensive when I reload and can be a real boomer with some loads and with some light 38 special loads it is a real cat sneeze.

I've got a few. SKS for one, I really like shooting, much more than the AK. The Marlin 60 (it's just so darn accurate). And lately, the Advantage Arms .22lr conversion for my Glock 19.

Marlin

The 60 is accurate, cheap and fun, the 39A is slower fun and imho more accurate.... but maybe because I'm better at taking my time with it.
The .357 1894c.. well it makes me feel like a 10 year old cowboy every time I pick it up, sweet..

I'll put in my vote for any big bore muzzleloader. The bigger the better. I've got a .753" Brown Bess replica that barely keeps the balls on paper at 100 yards, but it's an absolute blast to shoot. Smoke, recoil, a big flash from the pan and 3/4" holes appearing in the target that you can see plain as day from 50 yards away.

I'd like to get a 4 gauge blunderbuss next.

You can usually find used muzzleloaders cheap, and while those big round balls and big charges of powder might not be cheap, you only shoot once every 3 or 4 minutes, so a day at the range still doesn't cost that much.

It depends on the mood. I really like my Savage MK II FVT. Those peep sights while using cheap ammo makes for a ton of fun all day long without breaking the bank. Mine loves any ammo it gets so $1.50 Federal Champion gets a bit of use. If I want scoped work I LOVE my CZ 452 Varmint. It is a little steeper initial price especially with a decent scope but man once thats out of the way ammo runs cheap and the feel of that rifle is outstanding. My Marlin 336 in .30-30 is another outstanding rifle that is a hell of a bang for the buck. I reload and it is amazing how unpicky that rifle is. It is nice to take a break from the high demand a lot of rounds take to really shoot good. The SKS is another that is a great blaster that can be had for cheap with cheap ammo. I like it better than the Mosin rifles that I have. There are a lot of great bangs for the buck, it just depends what you type of fun you are looking for.

I simply MUST get one of those Black Powder boom sticks!

But as I've said before my Remington 514 single shot is neat because it shoots cheap ammo slowly.

as value goes -- there's nothing like shooting a buddy's gun & amoo :D but for me & mine -- I like the 10/22

I need to get one of those still... once I get my CC cleared off of all the ammo I bought, the first time I run acrost one I'll buy it. :)

I have seen the MP5K version, but I want a stock.

Threads like this baffle me because I wonder - if you have to ask the question you either don't know what fun is for you or you don't know prices. For my part, since I paid $99 for my Henry .22 when they first came out, I'll go with that.

The most fun rifle for the $$ in my collection is this Norinco T56SHTF
Hard hitting 7.62x39 ammo is still relatively cheap and emptying a 75 or 100 drum is big fun.
