Pretty self-explanatory, why do you like your favorite rifle above all others? Sentimental reasons, usefulness, accuracy, reliability, most fun to shoot, appearances, originality, or something else? Feel free to comment on the details of why it is your favorite and post pictures.

:)

I knew that I left something off...the "I like it because someone famous said something good about it" section.

FWIW I am a sentimental old fool and chose my Grandparent's Stevens Model 87D.

My favorite is my Ruger M77 MkII in .338 Win Mag. It's fun to shoot, I'm very accurate with it, and it is capable of taking anything that walks in North America.

Well, since my favorite rifle varies by application, I voted "it's useful."

I have three Marlins and two vie for favorite status. The 39A because I can play all day for next to nothing and the 1894c (actually a carbine) in 357 because it makes me feel like a 10 year old cowboy every time I pick it up and touch it off. I enjoy all my guns but love the levers.

Yes, to all of the options. Its my favorite because all the items on the list apply, rather than one or two...

extremely difficult to say.. cannot choose between the cz 527 varmint, the rock river Lar-15 long range set-up, or perhaps my new PTR-91... impossible to pick.

Earned my Distinguished and won a Regional Gold with an M1a. Shot it a number of years at Camp Perry. On my third barrel with it.

No malfunctions, perfectly accurate, powerful round.

This is my favorite.

Someday when I have my S&*% together I will post a pic: my Savage 340D chambered in .222rem. I got it because even a cheap old .222 shoots great, I think side-mount optics look cool, and for $350 it came with a Nikon scope with BDC reticule. Yes some of these rifles look ugly, mine has a nice walnut stock with no checkering that I did a nice oil finish, and polished it with rottenstone, glass bedded the stock, I can go on, anyway it shoots my handloads consistently around .5MOA and I can get MOA with plain Remington Core-Lokts

You have a different favorite for each day of the week?

Working on it...:D

For example of what I mean, though, it's hard to look at a Marlin 39, and an AR-15 next to it, and think, "Hmm... Which one is my favorite?" They're utterly different, and I like them for different reasons, but they're both rifles.

I had a couple of rifles that had no potential for being "favorites", no matter what the circumstances. I sold them.

My thoughts are which one would you keep above all others...and while I like all of my rifles (what I didn't got sold, or at least modified), there was one clear winner. There are about a half dozen that I would have a real difficult time parting with, but most of them could be replaced if necessary.

:)

anyone that has seen my posts in the past year knows its my 700.

i'm a sentimental old fool, but more than that it works every time, with excellence.

come to think of it....

the cz 527 varmint.. just too sweet a shooter, the stock is awesome. Partner that with the Bushnell 4200 longrange it is wearing and you have one hell of a rifle.
