Lately Ive been thinking: I wish I hadn't sold that Stainless Ruger Super Blackhawk in 44 mag.
And why did I sell the FAL. It had the heavy barrel, and attached bipod. I made $100 but wish I still had it
Sold them 15 years ago and now kicking myself in the butt..

Mostly I have no regrets, and I've sold a lot of firearms over the years. But I do have a few.

An Egypt contract FN-49 in mint condition with spare barrel. Shot cloverleaf groups at 75 yards. In a tight spot some years back I had to put it up on consignment. I got out of said tight spot, came back to claim it off consignment and literally saw the guy who bought it walking out to his car! Oh well.

My little Police Positive Special, which I also had to let go in a pinch.

Sig P225, which is about the only semi I really enjoyed shooting

Mosin 28/30 which I sold when I really didn't need to.

s&w k-22 6" with all the target goodies.:cuss:

everything else--made $$ on and replaced with better stuff.:D

now--down to what i use vs. what i look at.

I sold some very nice guns because circumstances beyond my control forced it but I have no regrets. I'm glad I had material assets I could convert to cash when I needed it. 2 belgian brownings, a nice 2nd series colt woodsman, couple old winchesters, etc. yeah, they're gone but so are the wolves at my door.

Bought and sold a lot of them over the years, but the one I regret selling the most was probably the 4 inch S&W J Frame, Model 651 in .22 Magnum......that was a great little shooter....

Only ever sold 2 guns in my lifetime.
One a shotgun I accuried back in the 50's, that has a story behind it I wish to completely forget.
The other a Marlin Mountie 39 that was the most inaccurate rifle I've ever owned, this also was back in the 50's. If I knew then what I learned a few years later I would have returned it.

Ruger Redhawk SS 8 1/2" bbl and a Beretta Mini Cougar 40cal NIB and a decent AK.

I've sold, traded, and gave away any number of handguns over the years. The only two I really wish I still had were a Browning H.P, and Walther .380 PPK. Both were very high quality pistols.

There is not enough room here to list all the guns I've had and sold, traded, or given away that I wish I had now but I'll start with a few. 11-87 Trap Model 12 ga, 8" Stainless Super Redhawk 44 mag, Model 788 in .222. XP-100 in .223

I've sold or traded some guns because I wanted something different or didn't like them, and those I don't regret. But I had to sell some prized guns because I was out of work, having a hard time and needed the money. Those, I regret. I did get more than double my money on some of them, however.

The two guns I truly regret selling were my first full automatics: a M1928A1 Thompson and a Winchester M1918 BAR. I had bought them in the mid-1970's, the Thompson for $750 and the BAR for $900 (plus the tax stamps, of course). About 10 years later, when the value had about doubled, I figured I should take my profits (since in the meantime I had gotten some "better" guns). Who could have guessed what happened to the market thereafter?

Hmm... in truth I haven't sold many guns.

Century WASR-10... I sold that to my dad, who was getting worried about all the stuff right across the border from El Paso. No regrets selling that.

Store-brand single shot 20 gauge. Sold to my dad along with the WASR. He wanted that because he was thinking of dove hunting, and it's the lightest shotgun I owned. No regrets.

Kel-Tec PF-9. This is the one I regret the most, mainly because of timing. I sold it to a friend who finally decided he needed a gun to protect himself and his family, and that his .22 long rifle bolt action wasn't going to cut it. He asked for the PF-9 because he knew it was the least expensive gun in my collection at the time, and I made sure he could afford it. EXCEPT this happened just before my move to Anchorage, and until I get my Alaska driver's license I can't get a replacement for it.

2 M1 Garands
2 P-38s
Luger
2 GI 1911s
UZI
S&W J Frame
2 44 Mag Marlin lever actions.
S&W Model 29
Ruger 44 Mag Blackhawk
Springfield 03A3

and about a dozen others.

Every gun I have ever sold, and not traded:banghead:...except a Ruger 22-45, that was the worst shooting pistol I ever had.

An early Interarms PPK/s American
A Fox BSE SxS 12ga
A Mak90
A Norinco M14s
My FN-FAL

John

byf P.08
6" stainless Security Six
Raven .25 (just kidding on that last one)

Guess I'm not alone. Ill definately think about it a little more before selling any more.

Winchester M1 Carbine w/ original paratrooper stock

Uzi Model 'A' 9mm

Lee-Enfield No.4 MkI Sniper

Smith & Wesson 625 "Model of 1989" 3 1/2" barrel

But the one I miss the most is the first custom 1911 I ever built - Colt/Essex in .45 (I have a 'WTB' for this gun in the Buy/Sell Section)

If I had a gun I regretted selling it would be the Colt SP1 AR-15 I had. I got twice out of it what I paid for it. I don't miss it, and if I still had it I don't know how often I would shoot it. Probably not much. It was just a neat rifle.

I traded a RIA double heat treat M1903 and a National Ordnance M1903A3 for a Ruger #1.

Wish I kept the 03's and paid cash for the Ruger.

I could have used all the parts except the receiver on the National Ordnance, and double heat treat RIA's are hard to find. It had the original barrel.

I regret every gun I sold or traded. It is something that I should never have done.

I traded my Savage 110B 30.06 for a Winchester Model 1400 and I love the shotgun but, wish I would have kept my rifle. It was my first and it was accurate.
