Which gun do you most regret selling?

Stans: "Traded it away for a danged computer."

And today the Wesson is worth more and the computer is worthless.

What were we thinking?

I've sold off many, only 3 that still bother me.

The first, a K98 mauser, war bring back giving to me as a youngster by a family friend. Had to have a lever gun like all my friends. Sold it to get a .444 Marlin. I'll never get that close to a rifle that cool again.

The second, my Mitchell Sportking. Had to sell it to keep the lights on. I've replaced it with a Trophy II that's actually nicer, but I still miss that Sportking.

The last sounds kinda strange, but I really miss my little Pheonix HP22. Had both barrels and both mags. Shot more accurately and reliablely than it had any right too. Traded it for a Charter Arms Explorer pistol that may just be the biggest POS I own. My brother borrowed it and put it in storage over 3 years ago, and I've never cared.

Sold a 629 Mountain Revolver years ago to a friend (for what I paid for it, which, I might add was significantly less than the prevailing street prices of the time). Thought I wanted out of .44 mags. Now I want it back and the schmuck won't sell it back to me. No matter. I have several nice pieces he wants and I'll melt them down before I sell them to him. I'll replace it eventually, but I'll register as a Democrat before I sell him another.

2 come to mind:S/W mod.38 boydguard airweight,and my GP100 6"(THE most accurate gun I've ever had)Live and learn.... :banghead:

The one I really regret letting go was a Pedersoli percussion SxS double 12 gauge that I had to sell when I was low on cash. I've never been much of a shotgunner, but I could hit better with that frontstuffer than any other shotgun I've ever used.

HK P7PSP. Sold it for what I bought it for. I hate the mag release on the PSPs, but I love the squeeze cocker.

LOL!

Where to start ?

Colt Diamonback .22 LR
Lew Horton S&W 686 Snub .357 mag.
Colt Pre-Ban AR15 Shorty
Hi-Std Victor .22 LR
Custom Colt Commander .45 Series 70
1903-A3 Custom Heavy Barrel Target
Colt New Frontier .22/.22 mag

And too many more to get emotional about.

In the end I guess it is just stuff .

I haven't owned guns long enough to own any (but I can't imagine selling any of the ones I own), but I regret that my father and grandfather sold some of their guns. My father and grandfather both had a few pre-'64 Model 70s and a couple shotguns (I think about half a dozen rifles and shotguns total) that they sold a few years ago. It's not just that they were very nice guns (they were in great shape), but also the sentimental value attached to them. My grandfather died a little over 6 years ago. I have two of his pistols that I use for plinking (they're both .22lr) and shooting with them makes me think of him.

When I worked in a Gunshop,I changed guns more often than most people change underoos. The couple that I wished I still had are...

Winch.94/22

S&W 66 2 1/2 "

'70 series Colt Commander

Springfield Loaded 1911 Full-size

That's about it.tom.

I've sold and traded off so many guns it's hard to decide which ones I regret getting rid of. I suppose my first gun, a Sig P226 would be the top regret. The Kimber Gold Guardian would have to be next. Then my CZ P-01 which I just recently replaced. Oh and my Springfield M1A.... that hurt. :(

Colt Officers ACP. I was firmy convinced that I needed a 44.mag for handgun hunting, so I sold my little officers mdl at "wholesale" and bought a vaquaro.
Ive since replaced the officers with a couple 1911s and the vaquaro with a super blackhawk, but I wish I still had the little colt. :banghead:

The only one I really regret selling was a Series 70 Gold Cup National Match, sold it back about 73/74, I really wish I had kept that pistol! :banghead:

Only gun I've ever sold I deeply regret.

I sold my Kahr MK40 Elite 98 so I could buy an AR-15 ... while I like the AR, I miss the little Kahr :(

What I've sold and not regretted
• AMT Longslide .45 ACP
• Remington 700ADL .22-250
• Winchester 94 .30-30
• FEG P9M 9x19mm

What I've sold and definitely regretted:
• Ruger 10/22 .22 LR
• Ruger 44 Deerslayer .44 Mag
• S&W 1917 .45 ACP
• Browning Hi-Power P35 9mm

What I've sold and may someday regret (but not yet)
• Remington 870 20 ga
• HK G3 (Century C91), 7.62x51mm

Way back when I was a teenager I shot 4 position smallbore and had a Remington 513(?) target rifle.Sold it to the junior rifle club after my dad passed away my senior year in HS.Sure do miss it these days...

Just a few...

I've only sold 7-8 over the years, and regret 3. First was an early blue 6" Ruger Security Six. Replaced it with a stainless steel, but wish I had both. Second was a blue Browning BDA 380 with 2-13 round mags. It was my first semiauto, and sold it to buy an amateur 2-meter rig. The radio has long since gone by the wayside. The third was a Browning .22 auto rifle (the bottom ejector style), grade 1 Japanese. I've since corrected that mistake.

I used to own a Browning .22 like that. It had a Leupold rimfire scope. The thing I didn't like about it was that when I shot offhanded, I held my support arm directly underneath the ejection port. On hot summer days with a short sleeved shirt on, the spent cases would land right on the really tender part of my arm. Sometimes they'd be hot enough to stick there, too. Ouch!
