The absolute oldest revolver I've taken to the range was a Colt 1877 "Lightning" double-action revolver that was manufactured in 1883. I did this once, just so I could say that I've shot an 1877. It survived the experience.

I've also fired two Colt 1878 Double Action revolvers, manufactured in 1889 and 1892 (you really get to noticing the recoil of full-power black powder loads in .45 Colt when it's all directed firmly into your hand,) respectively, a Colt 1892 manufactured around 1900 (with very light-loaded .38 Special rounds,) a Colt New Service from 1906 (accurate like a laser beam with Federal 225 grain LHP loads,) a Colt M1909 manufactured in the first run in late 1908, and a Smith and Wesson Safety Hammerless .32 S&W manufactured in about 1907 (which I occasionally carry when I need something lighter and easier to conceal than my Ruger SP-101.)

S&W model 1917 made in 1918-1919. Over 90 years old and it's still the best looking and shooting of my three revolvers.

Here's some of mine. The Lemon Squeezer chambered in .32 S&W in the picture below is dated to 1880 something (I think late 1880s, I haven't tried dating it yet). It's been re-blued.

Then, there's my S&W Model 1917. Again, I haven't had this one lettered or researched the Serial Number.

Then, there's the S&W Victory Model, this one is lettered to be produced around 1943. Not the oldest, but not too shabby either.

Then, there's the Webley MK VI, circa 1918 (I love when they put the dates ON the guns):

Then, there's the Colt Police Positive in .32 S&W Long circa 1922 from the NYPD.

Then, there's an older gun one of the S&W Topbreaks, S&W 2nd Model (I no longer have this gun, so didn't bother lettering it):

Just a smidgeon of what I have revolver wise, and these are some of my oldest guns.

Doesn't compare in age with most of these, but here is my 1939 H&R model 777 Ultra Sportsman

Thats really nice. I never would have guessed it to be made in 1939. It looks much more modern than that. The finish looks really nice. Way better than most H&Rs I've seen.

1st model S&W 32 SAFETY revolver, The model 19 is just a old holster wore 357 bought when the police went to 9mm,but the 32 shoots good someone along the way may have shortened the barrel or just ordered it that way fits good in coat pocket.

If the short barreled S&W lemonsqueezer is original those are fairly desirable. They were called bicycle guns. If you post close ups of the barrel markings I could tell you if you have a real bicycle gun or not.

colt 1873 made in 1874, it was done once, and probably won't be done again until dad lets go of it

I've shot all three of these older Smiths. Fun little guns. The oldest dates to the 1880s I guess. I really need to get them out of the safe for a better family photo. The Double Action is a recent arrival.
