Yes I do have some knife fighting training.
Our neighbor is a U.S Marine. He's a nice guy and whenever he can he teaches me knife fighting. He says it comes in handy. Me and him practiced with sharpies and it's really hard to inflict damage without recieving some yourself. Anyway I would really hate to get into a knife fight. And who provided this training, Young Grasshopper?
I've known some 14 year olds that have trained in dojo with knives and you may have been lucky enough to have had some formal training where making such a statement won't lead to embarrassment, but think carefully about the difference between formally training with an expert and messing around with a video or some amateur.

Same here except I carry 2-3 knives.Pepper spray, knife, & gun.
whenever he can
That's a very thought-provoking point. I'm sorry to say I haven't had any knife-fighting training (formal or otherwise), but if you wouldn't mind sharing, is there anything one can do to at least minimize incoming damage? Assuming you can explain this without showing it in a demonstration, I mean.Me and him practiced with sharpies and it's really hard to inflict damage without receiving some yourself.
Is your umbrella a single-shot 12 gauge? Or are you handier with a sword than with a handgun? It'll be my umbrella.
I almost never carry *a* knife.
Five or six, sure. But "a" knife? Nah.
