If you are CC'ing a 5" 1911...

Here's a Hi-Power holster he made for Ken in shark skin:
That is a very nice holster...and I really don't much care for the pancake style.

I like the way he has added the mouth reinforcement and still kept the frontstrap clear of the leather to get an initial master grip...a lot of holsters seem to forget this area

Ken had him do several. Here's one for his wheelguns:

My holster was an early model. It's closer to perfect than I can say, and he's gotten better since then!

Don Hume leather inside the pant holster is what I use for my Para Ordinance P14. Pretty comfortable, hides well under a coat.

I carry with a crossbreed super tuck. Man, what a comfortable holster.
I carry a 4 inch in a cargo pocket, or in my inside jacket pocket, or in a slot in my messenger bag.
God Bless,
Aaron

What I'm hoping he can do is make me a holster much like I asked you about above that covers the slide to the muzzle but is narrower with the clips where the tuck slots are.

I'm a thin Guy and I never tuck a shirt in.

I like the Sparks Summer Special II. Brownell's often has them in stock for around $100--not bad for the holster that all other 1911 IWB holsters aspire to be!

comp-tac minotaur.. Fantastic rig. Worth every penny (90.00) and it has the interchangeable kydex bodies so you can carry more than one gun on the same backing.

I really like the holsters you shared!
Well, Joel is combining a lot of hard work with what simply must be some serious natural talent to become a maker who's work really takes a back seat to no one.

Back in the olden days, I carried a full sized 1911A1 in a Bianchi (?) Askins Avenger (OWB). Occasionally I just tucked it behind my hip with no holster.

I carry a similarly sized gun (CZ75 B SA in .40) in a standard pancake holster modified for IWB.

Pretty much any dual clip/loop style IWB holster will carry a Government model 1911 comfortably and securely.

Many folk will recommend the Crossbreed Supertuck. Other than the fact that I prefer a 100% leather holster (like Gus' UBG Striker), you can't really go wrong with the Supertuck.

Don't go cheap on the belt, the 1911 is heavy enough that you'll really benefit from a heavy belt designed for carrying a gun. I can't recommend the Beltman belts enough ... I always thought they were too pricy but the instant I started carrying with one I started kicking myself for not buying one years earlier.

We'll have to do something about that problem you have not being able to wear my IWB holster Sam. Can't stop you from eating, so I guess you need an OWB as well... Got lots of Python that will match nicely to that hand-sword scabbard we discussed... LOL

I carry mine in a Comp-tac CTAC at ~4 o'clock. With the cant as-manufactured, I found it a bit difficult to conceal and not terribly comfortable while sitting in the car. To fix this, I cut my own leather strut and used it to replace the front strut which allows me to put another 5-10 degrees on it. My general rule is that when the bottom of the grip is about vertically even with the end of the barrel, the cant is good for IWB carry.

For a 4" to 5" barreled gun, that is the general consensus. It also aids greatly in a fast, snag-free draw.

I'm partial to the CompTac Minotaurs.
Sorry, but that "beast" is what got me motivated to start making my own holsters. It sits on my wall as a motivational reminder. Don't get me wrong. I know lots of guys love it, but I am not one of them.

I've been CC'ing my glock 34 for the last few weeks. Sent my G26 in for new sights. I use a crossbreed super tuck. The grip is the hardest thing to conceal. The length really isn't a problem.
