Just one for now, I converted a Zastava PAP to a more traditional look. I do have two AR's. The AR is hands down more accurate and easier to install optics. The iron sights are better also. Both are reliable, but the AK will work with less maintenance. I like both of them in their own way.

I ended up getting a AK47 for real cheap from a neighbor of mine who doesn't shoot anymore. I have't had a chance to go shoot it yet but looking forward to it.

My favorite is definitely my Russian Arsenal 74.

Also have a 2 romanian AKMs(pre and post ban), Yugo Underfolder, Draco Pistol, Saiga 308 and Saiga 12 converted. I would also argue that my Sig556 is an AK as well.

Plan on eventually getting an Arsenal Buglarian 7.62 and Saiga in 5.56 for a conversion project. A krink would be nice as well.

No and I'll probably never buy one. Though I 'might' take a free one.....maybe. They just don't appeal to everybody for various reasons.

Wow 33 people voted "No, and I do not want one". I don't trust those 33 people.
It's now 53. I don't trust anyone who would make such a statement.

I've been into rifles for a long time, and I've considered myself basically "an AR guy" for the last decade. Still, I was interested in an AK-pattern rifle, but I had a really hard time finding what I wanted. About six months ago, I took a chance on a Century-built Polish AKMS, and I have been VERY pleased with it. It's definitely one of the best purchases I've made in a long while. While my AKMS will not replace my AR rifles, I do enjoy it immensely. The two platforms are simply different. I like both for very different reasons. IMHO, if you like military-style semiauto rifles, you owe it to yourself to try out both an AR and an AK-pattern rifle.

I have a WASR-10 which is pretty decent, having a straight front sight and gas tube.
Also have a Sig Sauer 556R and 556 Patrol, which, while not really AKs per se, are "AK style" in that the design was inspired by Kalashnikov's invention.

I have a Romanian AK-47 that I built from a kit. It isn't the prettiest rifle I've seen, but it's accurate and gets the job done.

I have a Wasr-10 that my wife gave to me for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's a great rifle. I'm looking to get a Saiga to convert this summer.

I did and I'd like to get another one day. I'm thinking of saving my money for a nice graduation present in a few years' time.

Although I was trained on the M16 (and carried it) platform back in my younger days, I have a preference for Mr. IMI :)

I have two: a fixed stock AK74, and a hybrid folder (Romanian/Hungarian) parts gun in 7.62. The 7.62 serves as a vehicle gun, and the 5.45 is there for really bad times (with a couple cases of ammo, 4000+ rounds). I enjoy shooting my M1 Carbine more, but the AK's are better fighting weapons: more rugged and PROBABLY more dependable, but offer greater penetration and range. The Carbine remains more accurate than both, though.

I only have one, a pre-ban Hungarian SA-85M. Would like to get a Romanian RPK some day to go along with it.

I just got my first AK 74 - A Tanatal and I think me and my rifle are going to become fast
friends. I've shot around 120 rounds so far and I like what I've seen. Now I'm thinking
about getting it's big brother when it comes to cartridge size - the AK 47.

I wish someone would make a 6.5 Grendel or at least make a barrel one could swap out on their AK in 7.62x39. I know that Krebs made one as an experiment but I don't think they manufacture it.:banghead:

im so ak addicted its terrible. i spend all my time off at the range akfiles or here only have a wasr but plan on an amd-65, century rpk, draco, underfolder, and a psl

gonna try for all of them by my next b-day

Supposedly VEPR will be making one in 6.5 grendel. Barrel swaps on AKs are certainly possible but much more involved than AR barrel swaps.

I have a WASR -10 for three reasons: The price was right, the action is a major milestone in the evolution of battlerifles, and they will probably be banned again.

The elegant simplicity of the design and inter relationship of the parts is something to be admired.

It does do bang, I own 22 rimfires that will shoot dime sized groups at 50 yards and 1 MOA at 100 yards, so this group at 50 yards with the WASR is not exactly target grade.

But it does go bang and is an interesting design.

I won’t buy others till unless they are more accurate and have a better trigger. Till then, an AK is what it is.

Yup. I have a converted x39 Saiga, and I hope to grab another and a .308 at some point, hopefully before the election scare.

I respect the AK even if I'm not a huge fan of the traditional look or the rough shape many come in, but I love me some Saiga.
