I saw a guy on gunbroker posting some for sale. It looks like that is the direction Glock is going for an alternative to black guns. Might mean I need to hang on to my OD Glocks. They honestly look like the same color from the pictures. Has anybody seen one in person to compare it to the OD framed guns?

Square turds!!!!!!!

Why are turds made with rounded edges?

So your butt doesn't slam shut!

They do not look like the OD glocks to me, it looks like a different color.

Do they come from glock like that? There was a couple selling recoated guns.

It appears that the color of crap is worth $100.00 more. Doesn't do a thing for me.

I like the color of my Glocks as same as powder fouling ... black, so if I don't get to clean them as often as I like, they still look good. :D

Change color ... charge your customers more ... Glock perfection, maybe for Glock accountants? :scrutiny::uhoh:

Lipsey's website claims they aren't charging any more than they do for black Glocks. What retailers do with them is a different story. And to be honest, the MSRP on them doesn't look any different then MSRP in black Glocks.

Where did you get the idea that they are $100 more?:scrutiny:
They are the same price as any other gen4 g19.

Exact same MAP price as for black frames.

My mistake dogtown. The advertised price at the link provided by hAkron is $649.00. Gen 4 g17 can be seen advertised for $539.00 elsewhere and locally can be had for $520. So I guess I should have said the color of crap is $120.00. Top gun supply is currently selling gen 4's for $539.00. I did not make a distinction between MSRP and actual price because MSRP is all I saw on the site that was linked.

Lipsey's is a distributor....so they sell to dealers only.

FYI....Glock MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) on a gen4 g17 or G19 w/fixed sights is $539. While a dealer can sell for less than that, get caught doing so by Glock or your distributor and you'll never sell Glocks again.

Good grief. What's next? People getting their wedding tackle dipped in Flat Dark Earth duracoat?

Didnt Glock stop selling the colored variants because of poor sales? It was a gimick the first time around and it's a gimick now.

I'll pass.

Another Green is not for me ..

I just show my friends my Colts and Kimbers.

I show my Glock to my enemies.

Sargents1, you would be surprised to see how fast FDE guns and furniture sell at the shop where I work. My theory is that people want to use what the military is using, or what they think the military is using. We are fighting a desert war, therefor people are buying tan guns. Glock just picked the wrong color variation the first time. I suspect if they had originally gone with FDE they would have never dropped them from their line up. Heck, i've had three people ask me in the past week about the FNP Tactical in FDE.

This is all just just my theory. I suppose we'll see if I'm right.

Some people just seem to want something a little different instead of all black or walnut. Look at how many guns you can buy in pink now. Even Beretta has a blue receiver on their new shotgun. The guys who you think would be into a gun like an AR would probably like it in a color that would fall into the camo spectrum so fde or od would be a natural choice for them.

Companies like keltec and charter make half of what they make in more than a couple of colors. Cav Arms was selling furniture in electric blue and neon yellow a long time ago. I've owned a few pistols in 2 tone colors but I bought them because they were a great deal, not because of the color. The color grew on me though.

I've thought about getting a pistol Duracoated in blaze orange. I would make it easy to locate in a camp, or if dropped in the grass or woods, and would definitely give you an edge in a gunfight. The badguy would either laugh or hesitate, and then you shoot him.............

I'm pretty sure that this is illegal in most places.......but if the BG falls down laughing do you arrest him with furry handcuffs too?

I don't care what you say, that's funny, right there... now just to avoid legal hassles, maybe peridot...(I'm thinking that lime yellow otterpop color hehe) with blaze o. flames! hold on, gotta buy some duracoat... :D

Why would that be illegal, allaroundhunter?
I've seen guns duracoated in a million different colors.

Because the reason toy guns have painted orange tips are to provide police officers (and others) with visual recognition that the gun is not real. (That is the ideal of the law)

Orange typically designates non lethal toys from weapons capable of deadly force.

That shotgun is perfectly capable of firing standard shotshells. The orange color is for the officer to know its loaded with less than lethal ammunition.

If you point a fake gun, water pistol or airsoft gun at a police officer expect to get shot. And an orange tip wont do anything to keep that from happenning. There is a kook in Tennessee who painted an orange tip to a firearm in an effort to provoke police....it did.

There is no Federal or Texas law that prohibits Duracoating a gun any color you want. In the last year I've transferred rasberry, billfold brown, lemon yellow, FDE, OD, pink and a dozen other colors....all perfectly legal.
