dogtown_tom, that's exactly what I was thinking. I thought to remembered something about a mandate that toy guns had to have an orange tip, but nothing about the color of a real firearm.
At Grabagun the Gen 4s in FDE are actually CHEAPER than the standard Gen 4 offerings...It appears that the color of crap is worth $100.00 more. Doesn't do a thing for me.
If you point a fake gun, water pistol or airsoft gun at a police officer expect to get shot. And an orange tip wont do anything to keep that from happenning. There is a kook in Tennessee who painted an orange tip to a firearm in an effort to provoke police....it did.
There is no Federal or Texas law that prohibits Duracoating a gun any color you want. In the last year I've transferred rasberry, billfold brown, lemon yellow, FDE, OD, pink and a dozen other colors....all perfectly legal.
The folks who hate Glocks will have yet another logical reason to hate Glocks. Goodie.
Sargents1, you would be surprised to see how fast FDE guns and furniture sell at the shop where I work. My theory is that people want to use what the military is using, or what they think the military is using. We are fighting a desert war, therefor people are buying tan guns. Glock just picked the wrong color variation the first time. I suspect if they had originally gone with FDE they would have never dropped them from their line up. Heck, i've had three people ask me in the past week about the FNP Tactical in FDE.
This is all just just my theory. I suppose we'll see if I'm right.
