Blazer 38 Special Standard Rounds 158 gr LNR I Hope the Aluminum casings
work,$17.89 for a box and They let Me purchase 200 rounds...YEA !!!! Full report after my Range trip Sunday Morning..

Ive shot many hundreds of rounds of Blazer aluminum without ever having a problem, in .45 auto and 9x18 Makarov calibers. No worries!

Just don't try to reload the casings.... :uhoh:

Blazer aluminum case ammo is reliable, but the stuff in 9x18 I had was very inaccurate. That said it's intended to be cheap practice ammo, not match-grade stuff.

In the late 90's or so, I purchased a few boxes of aluminum-cased CCI Blazer ammunition loaded with 90gr Gold Dot JHPs. I was happy to have it for my IJ-70 until I realized how wildly inaccurate it was out of my commercial makarov.

I don't know if it was a bad lot or not as I never had any issues with aluminum CCI Blazer from my other handguns, but it was quite possibly the worst 9x18 I've experienced as far as accuracy is concerned.

I always found that peculiar as I hadn't ever read or heard any other accounts of inaccurate Blazer 9x18 until now.

Snowdog, the stuff I got was within the last 3 years. It's probably still a problem. I wouldn't be surprised if they used .357 bullets in it instead of the proper .362.

You know, I still have some of those rounds I believe. I can't believe I hadn't thought of that, but it's certainly a possibility and would explain a lot. I'll dig out the calipers tomorrow and see if I can't solve that mystery with a simple measurement.

I have no problem at all with them. True, worthless for reloading, but sometimes you can find them cheap enough to buy in quantity. Some ranges do not like you to shoot them though.

I've shot a considerable quantity of the Blazer .38 Special 130gr. FMJ. It always went bang and it was reasonably accurate out to two hundred yards in a S&W Model 14.

I no longer buy factory ammunition for practice, since I reload ALL of my practice ammunition. It's been several years since I used the stuff. I doubt it's changed much, if at all.

9x19 & 38spl. both have a perfect record in my guns. Always go bang, may not be dead on as good as some others, but part of that could be the shooter, lol.

Couple years ago I picked up a nice 80s .357 Mag Desert Eagle for a song and a couple hundred rounds of older 90s production aluminium Blazer .357. Stuff ran that DE like a champ.

When I finally ran out of the older Blazer I picked up a few boxes of new production. Not a single round would cycle the Desert Eagle. :scrutiny:

Other than that little disappointment with the .357, Blazer has always been my go-to ammo for auto-loaders when I'm at the local outdoor range and don't feel like brass chasing. I can't even use Tula for that any more since I discovered the cases reload so well, lol.

I bought 500 rounds of the .45acp Blazer aluminum last month. Shot fine and is as accurate as any other brand I'd tried. I'd buy it again!

I shoot it all the time. Heck, i put a box of exactly the ammo you're talking about (.38spl, 158gr LRN) through my Ruger on Friday with no problems. The round is more accurate than I am as a shooter. The hardware may not be fantastic, but it's still better than the software in my case!

RANGE REPORT-Blazer 38 Special Standard Rounds 158 gr LNR - No problems ,They are better than the Shooter and Eject from the cylinder really fast made me faster re-loading the only drawback that is they would not be good for a Defensive Rounds,,great for practice though..and the price is right...

And when ammo is in short supply, they are better as defensive rounds than empty chambers. ;)

When I find a good deal on the Blazer I get some. Even though I reload, Blazer is a good, cheap alternative that I can let others shoot without having to make them trust my reloads.

I've used Blazer aluminum in 9mm and .45 ACP for training courses where recovering brass doesn't work. I've never had a problem with any of the rounds....they have been both very accurate and reliable.

I've used the Blazer in 380, 9mm, and 45 ACP and never had a problem. And contrary to what some others have said, I DO reload them (Mild loads.) Some of my aluminum 45 ACP cases are or their fifth reload without any problems.
