Blazers blowing up a gun?????

Either the range doesn't want to sort aluminum out of the brass or they want to sell more expensive ammo. The case is just a gasket. If it fails, the case blows out - not the gun. If CCI/Blount had that kind of failure rate, they would have been out of business years ago.

Blazer-AL blowing up otherwise strong guns?
I'll raise the BS flag on that.

The cartridge case is merely a gasket. Plain and simple it is there for a gas seal.
The chamber contains the pressure. The case seals the gaps.

If the case was supposed to contain the pressure then you wouldn't need an enclosed chamber. Or you could make a gun out of cardboard.

IF the kaboom occured while firing Blazer-AL ammo then the barrel was obstructed. And ANY normal loading would/could have done that.

I've fired tens of thousands of Blazer-AL over the years. And yes I've had several dozen cases split upon firing.
But the only problem from that was a little extra soot in the chambers.
I've had more nickle plated brass split than I have Blazer-AL.

I've had hot 170 gr. FMJ .357 loads fail in revolvers and there was no serious damage. The cases split down the sides and there was a louder report. The only difficulty was extracting the damaged case with out damaging the cylinder. The photo looks like an obstruction of some sort caused the failure. But that is just a SWAG.
