Hello,
Has anyone else had a problem with the Kahr CW40's magazine dropping free unintentionally during firing? I bought one new about a year ago, and was very pleased with it until now.
The gun fired like a champ for the 200+ break in rounds,
Then started dumping the mag on recoil literally EVERY shot unless I curl my pinky under it to hold it in the gun. At first I thought it was my thumb hitting the magazine release upon recoil, until I fired it very deliberately without any digit anywhere near the mag release, and boink....out it falls every time, scattering rounds everywhere.
Anybody had this issue, and how did you fix it?
Thanks

Check that the metal insert on the mag catch is still there. They've had problems with the metal to plastic bonding in the past and will send you a new mag catch if that is the issue.

I have a Kahr P9 Covert and have found that the short, small grip combined with a fairly weak magazine catch spring makes it easy for the magazine to unlock while firing. I have to focus on hand position to keep this from happening. My all steel Kahr K40 has no such tendencies. It is easy to bump the mag release button while shooting on the plastic Kahr though.

My CW40 has a very stiff mag catch and the mag has never fallen out while shooting. I'd wager something is not right with your P9 Covert mag catch as my P9 did not have any inadvertent mag release issues and I'd hardly call its mag catch spring "weak". My PM40 is the one that had the defective mag catch, and has been perfect since Kahr sent me a replacement mag catch.
