This one is simple, which is favorite carry round? This isn't a discussion of which is best or worst, what you should or shouldn't carry, only what you DO carry.

I'm just curious...

9mm for me; adequate performance (all handguns are relatively poor "stoppers" regardless of caliber or bullet used) w/greater capacity & faster followup shots than w/the larger calibers. 135gr Critical Duty provides sufficient penetration w/o excessive recoil.
JMHO...

I really like a 45acp but of course my carry guns are 9mm .
I should love to carry my 44mag snubby but I guess that is overkill and damb heavy.

9mm critical defense. High capacity in a small package with the power to do the job and the popularity to keep em cheap.

9mm. Right combination of high capacity and firepower. I prefer Ranger SXT 127 grain +p+ or HST if I can find them.

I carry either 9mm or .38 special. I tend to carry the revolver more as the like the firearm itself more. But I also like some of the advantages the 9mm cartridge can offer over the .38. Since this poll appears to be more about the ammo, and not the gun, I voted 9mm.

125 gr 357 magnum. I remember reading about more one shot stop encounters with this than anything else.

I had to vote other 357Sig

Isn't that a 9mm? The op lumped 40 & 10mm and 357 mag and 38!special together. Thus i think your vote should just be for 9mm:D

I never understood the 357 sig. Yes, it gives you a faster 9mm but it sacrifices capacity. With the same capacity as the 40, I think I'd rather have the heavier 40 caliber bullet myself. With all that said, I actually carry a 45 ACP :)

What Is Your Favorite Carry Round, the Round You Carry Most.

The one I carry most is not my favorite. It's the most convenient.

Since I don't really have a "favorite" carry caliber, I went with what I've decided to carry today when I go out ... which is one of my J's loaded with .38 Spl +P. (Probably one of my M&P 340 .357's, but loaded with .38 +P ;) )

I don't feel like wearing a belt gun today, as I'll probably stop by the cigar club and want to sit out in the sun on the patio in a T-shirt without wearing my leather jacket, which leaves out my 9's, .40's & .45's, and I wanted to have something a little heavier than a .380 along today while riding my motorcycle through the hills ... so a 5-shot snub gets the duty.

Now, if this poll had been taken while I was still working, and applied to duty weapon calibers, then I'd probably have picked 9mm (and I finished my career carrying .40 and then .45 ;) ).

I'm curious about whether you voted on your own poll. If so, which did you choose? (No wrong answer, just curious.)

Most of the time .40 due to having power yet being a smaller sized gun, it and the .45 are my favorites.

I carry a Glock 36 with 185gr Corbon DPX most of the time, when it gets really cold and I wear a long coat I'll switch to a full sized 1911 with 230gr Winchester Rangers. The only time it varies is if I am riding my bicycle, and its a .38 in my jersey pocket.
