Your Favorite Carry Round

I'm a .40 S&W guy. I like the extra oomph over 9mm with only slightly less capacity. Better capacity and greater velocity than .45. Just a good middle of the road. When my XDsc feels too bulky I slip a TCP .380 in my pocket.

.38 spl. Not the best, I suppose, but that old Model 38 slips into a pocket with a speed strip so well that it always can go with me.

I said 380 ACP only because my LCP is so convienent. I'm new to concealed carry, may eventually work up to IWB someday. Pocket carry is convienent for me right now.

I also own and shoot pistols in 22lr, 38 special, 357 magnum, 357 sig, 9 mm, and 40 S&W.

I also carry 9/45 depending on mood and garments.

For work I carry the 40 s&w (G22), so in my personal life I carry a 40 s&w (G23). I'm a big believer in staying with a similar platform whenever possible. That being said, when the G23 is to bulky for what I'm wearing, I will carry my Walther .380 or my SP101 in .357.

I usually end up with a 32acp

My choice for home, car and concealed carry would be a 9 m.m., however, the caliber I carry most often is the .32ACP. I use either a BERETTA Tomcat or if clothing permits, a WALTHER PPK.
When in casual clothes, I can get away with a .380ACP SIG 232, but not in most of my clothes. I use a pocket carry, so clothes determine what I carry.

I have even worn a NAA Guardian when the Tomcat would have printed.

I'm surprised the .40 has such a poor showing.

It's 9mm for me, 45 is a close second.

.38 Special for me, with .45 ACP and .44 Special being closely tied seconds.

9mm offers me better concealability, so I carry a G26 or Shield most. We don't have open carry, but if we did I'd carry a .45acp. If I don't really care if I print, I may carry a G30.

My carry gun is in .45acp but I really thought the S&W .40 would be the most carried in the poll. Not trying to "diss" your choice I just thought the .40 would win.

I carry a full size 1911, in .45, routinely, for those times when it's size makes it cumbersome, I switch to a j frame .38, the P3AT is always in the pocket anyway. I have carried for many years, and I don't believe that there is a "perfect" carry pistol, having several good choices allow a person to carry the most potent weapon circumstances allow.

.380 is my concealed carry. If I'm out in the woods or it doesn't need to be concealed I've usually got a Colt Commander .45 somewhere close.

It use to be 45acp now it is 44. Most of the time I don't have to worry about concealment.
