You can use the display & controls on the front or you can use the optional cable & usb adapter to connect to a pc running their software. With the cable you can either control the unit directly in real time or download a range session after you get home. It works well either way. Nice large "window" to shot through & a replacement at 1/2 msrp if you kill it. Not real picky about outdoor lighting conditions & doesn't miss many shots (at least mine doesn't).

Probably the best one out there for the price, It functions perfectly in the blazing Florida Sun and bounce back light off the sand shell (dirt) on the range

Our range faces E and W and it works at early rising Sun all the way through.

I returned two of the folding Chronys and finally got this one.

I really like mine. I have shot at least 500 rnds across mine without a single error. I would suggest getting a quality tripod. I have used other CE products outside of shooting. They build great products, and have a great CS!

I have one, and love it. One of my range buddies has a CED M2 (allegedly, the most accurate one and an IROA favorite). We put them in line and they measured spot on. We did this at 6 PM and started running out of day light, but my Pro Chrono was still able to measure when the CED was unable.

If you're thinking in getting one, go ahead. You won't regret it.

I have one & it works very well.

But be fore warned:

There ain't but 2 kinds of chronograph users...
1. Them that's shot theirs
2. Them that's gonna shoot theirs.

I'll admit, I'm in the first category.
Scoped rifles are the bane of a chronograph's existence.

Competition Electronics will charge 1/2 the MSRP or less to fix it.
If it ain't fixable you get a new one.
Right now MSRP is $120

I like mine. I've had a couple random misreads - they were obvious so it wasn't an issue.

Last time out I realized a small piece of white paper or cardboard under the display (to reflect light to the display) would make it much easier to read from the bench. So now I need to rig up something to do that.
