what is your most accurate pistol

Les Baer Wadcutter, just finished using a Hyskore rest testing handloads at 25 yards - the rest and gun (not Me :)) put a bunch of shots in a 1" group.

Bob Marvel 22 conversion on Dan Wesson frame puts the cheap 22's in a 1" area at 25 yards (again off the rest).

I can't really say. I took this picture thinking I may have narrowed it down to 20 pistols, but in looking at it, I left out a few that should replace some of the models pictured. You know you have too many damn guns when you can't keep track of them. ;)

These are arranged in no particular order.

Left to right:

Beretta Steel I, Walther P88 Competition, Smith & Wesson 845, Delta AR Top Gun, HK P9S Sport, Benelli MP3S, Smith & Wesson 52, Smith & Wesson 952, Sig P210-6, Sig Sauer X-Five, Korth Autopistol, Browning GP Competition, Pardini GT9, Wolf SV Ultramatic, CZ 75 Champion, Sphinx Competitor, Infinity 1911, Pistol Dynamics Signature, Rock River Arms Limited Match, Les Baer SRP.

Overally, I do shoot 1911s the best.

I haven't rested any of my gins so I don't know the best inherent accuracy, but shoot my 5906 best of the current crop.

Cz 75b SA shares the title with s&w 686-4 performance center 6" 357 mag.

Well, that's if I omit the 22/45 and buck mark guns.

German Sig 228 used in single action- not based on inherent bench supported but rather unsupported. It is a laser using HST 124 gr.

Kimosabe,
I think maybe you might have misunderstood what I was trying to say.Shooting has become like a mistress, I love doing it with my wife. We even have monthly memberships at a great local indoor range and even though I currently have 7 total guns, my shoulder keeps me from being near as accurate as the (currently my Colt Gov't 38 super)gun. I am always shooting for the center of the bulls eye but I know that even with some of these race guns, it'll be luck more than skill of what my shaking shoulder will allow. Currently I am looking for a good commander, Wiley Clapp, or a 5" STI Trojan or a 70 series Colt. Every time the CFO gives the okay I'm going to add another. My oldest son is always on the prowl for me, while the youngest could care less. I might add, I've only been shooting 2 years.

bc what do you think about that x series Sig?

I'm not big on the new models with the rail, but I'm sure they shoot just as well. I love my older X-Five L1. Its one of the softest shooting and most accurate pistols I own.

This one. A Browning Buckmark Bullseye model with a Burris 4x PA and Herrett's cocobolo stocks. It's had a trigger job done and is a bit less than 2lbs. It has turned in some unbelievable 0.20"@25yd groups.

I probably shoot my best targets with my Dan Wesson Valor, it's definitely easier to shoot tight groups with the DW compared to the others.

Kimber Grand Raptor and Kimber TLE. Those babies were accurate!

Quite a contrast to the other service guns I have owned over the years... Sigs, Glocks, HKs, Colt 1911s, Berrettas, XDs, and Rugers. All of which functioned well but we're not in the league of the Kimbers for accuracy.

However both Kimbers had serious function problems out of the box, problems that weren't related to close clearances, but rather poor manufacturing and QC. Their customer service was not impressive either.

Personally, I would rather have second rate accuracy, and first rate quality control and functional reliability.

Probably my Ruger Mk.11 stainless with the 6 7/8 '' tapered barrel. At most distances it shoots one ragged hole with match-grade .22s from a good rest.

The gun I shoot best is a Les Baer Permier II, standard version. This is 50 yards off hand, my best target of the day. 4.5 grains of Bullseye #68 H&G LSWC.

My TC Contender's 12" .30-30 barrel can shoot 3" five shot groups at 200 yards with a 4mil dot reticle 2x scope. It might get into one MOA with more precision glass. I have a 7mm TCU barrel that probably would beat it with glass, never put glass on it, shot it in stock gun IHMSA competition. For stock gun class, they require iron sights and 10" barrel max. That involves shooting steel silhouettes of animals out to 200 yards off hand, no rest that isn't flesh and bone, usually shot from Creedmore. 7mm TCU is an inherently accurate and efficient round. It involves necking up .223 brass to 7mm and fire forming. It was created for IHMSA competition.

As auto pistols go...this Ruger .22 shoots 1" at 50 yards with ordinary old Federal bulk ammo....

As for center fire, this Ruger....

Either the CZ75B or the Springfield XDM. Both are amazingly accurate guns that definitely shoot better than I can.

The four that, I shoot the best are my Beretta PX4 Storm compact 9mm, Springfield XDM 40 cal, Sig P220 Elite Dark 45ACP, and Sig P226 Blackwater 9mm. I like Glocks, and own several, but I don't shoot them as accurately as I shoot these four guns.
