Just tried the stock grips on it. They're slightly rounder and offer a little more control, at least for dry-firing. But the clip grips aren't bad.

I really feel like getting a set of checkered walnut grips now.

Those J frames are pretty small. I carry a 442 with a Clark tuned action that I inherited from my dad. Shoots great, nice DA trigger, ultra light and compact. The grips you show with the built in belt clip I saw this weekend on a Performance Center Wyatt model too. I swapped my grips for Hogue finger groove boot grips. J frames are great little guns. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

Attempt at a classier pic. Awesome boot leather wallet courtesy of a former girlfriend.

Bought a used Crossbreed Supertuck for it today. We'll see how that works out. Never use done of those before.

Yeah, it's not something I was really planning on buying but I figure there's nothing to lose in being able to conceal this thing really, really deeply.

Congrats, you are going to enjoy the J-Frame, quite possibly the perfect carry gun!!

Well, I seem to have gone a little crazy with the J-frame accessories. Grabbed a used Galco Summer Comfort IWB holster, a vintage Bianchi 9R inverted shoulder rig (think Clint Eastwood in "The Gauntlet",) and a set of Altamont checkered rosewood grips w/medallions.

I'll have to get pics when all this stuff shows up. And I think I need Sondra Locke to go with the shoulder holster.

All right, thought I'd do some mini reviews in case this helps anyone else. I should mention I actually rarely carry a gun but it was too hard to pass up all the used J-frame stuff floating around out there.

First, the Altamont rosewood grips are pretty neat. Not as comfortable as the stock rubber boot grips, but they're pretty good and don't cause your shirt to ride up.

The Crossbreed is a big holster, but it's so flat and smooth it's probably my favorite. It just disappears when you're wearing it. I'd never tried this style before and I really like it now.

The Galco is a very nice holster and it's easy to take on/off. It also is very thick and becomes quite a lump in your belt, and tends to move around a little. Probably the one I'd use if I weren't going to be wearing it a long time.

Bianchi shoulder rig is comfortable, easy to wear, and holds the gun securely. Also makes you look like a '70s detective. On the down side, where the gun naturally sits is hard to reach with your strong hand, and for those who care it keeps the muzzle pointed squarely into your armpit. Probably would wear this if I were going to be driving a lot.
