Has anyone else gotten a call from the NRA about renewing their membership for 5 yeas for $100. Apparently it includes some sort of watch. They knew the last 4 digits of my NRA account when they called so IMO they were legit. I believed it enough to sign up since I was about due to re-up anyway. I just wondered if I gave my CC info to somebody who is now living large somewhere in the Caribbean on my dime. I signed my wife up again too but she only wanted a yearly which was $25.

I am a Life Member ,so of course I did not get that offer. But it is certainly a fine deal at $20 per year.

Over the years I have gifted many at $25. This is certainly the best yearly offer in a long time,TMK.

I got that call a couple nights ago. Actually, the NRA calls me about once a week

The NRA has never called me. Not once in 30 years. I feel slighted! :D

That's not the first time they have called me but it's been maybe 5 years ago the last time they called. I gifted my wife last year at $25 too so I was surprised to get that good of a deal when they were already giving me the 5 year deal. I knew it was a good price and apparently the watch is pretty nice too but I can't remember exactly what they said it was. It doesn't matter. I didn't join for that. I'm glad to not have to worry for the next 5 years plus. I don't even remember exactly how long I have on my current membership actually.

Of course they tried to sell me a lifetime membership but I didn't have the money for that since it's right before Christmas and I don't like to make them think I'll support them no matter what anyway.

I had several contacts from the NRA wanting me to purchase another membership. I still had several months left on the current membership so I waited. About a month before the expiration, NRA called again and I said no to the first offer. He came back with the 5 years for $100 offer and I said sure thing. I was not comfortable giving my CC info over the wireless phone I was on so he set it up to mail a packet for me to fill out and mail a check back in. The guy was great and I was happy!

It's all good! We need to get every member we can get into the NRA. The 800 pound gorilla carries a really big stick! :D Just ask the folks in Washington, D.C.

I've been a member for many years. I just didn't want to find out I gave my money to a scammer. :)

At several gun shows, at the door, they offer free entrance (value of $7-8) and a free NRA cap (value ~$8-10) if you'll renew or join NRA. Now THAT is a deal!

After my two bouts with cancer, I remembered the old joke: Doctor's advice is to buy your bananas one at a time. Same for jelly beans. So I re-up two years at a time. Cancer is 7 years in the rear view mirror, so maybe it's time to look again at 5-yr stints.

I got that call a couple of months ago. I totally threw him a curve when I asked for the Lifetime membership. He had to get a manager and after a few minutes, the deal was done.

I finally did the $300 life membership a few years ago. It allowed me to sponsor family and friends to get the same deal. I would just call and tell them you are ready.

Only 22 years since they've called me! :D

At the large gun shows in north TX, you can renew or join for $25, free cap and free admission - $10 admission. So my membership only costs $15 a year, but I get the weekly NRA phone calls.

I've been a a life member for a few years now. Last week I got an offer in the mail for a special priced membership rate...? And it was mailed to me at my neighbors house address across the street. :scrutiny:

At $1mil +/- a year salary, Lapierre needs to review his records and get his chit straight.

With the help of the good Lord I beat stage 3 cancer 25 years ago. It certainly hasn't been easy living with the after effects of 6 times the normal dose of chemotherapy either. That's what they gave me because they figured I was going to kick off if they didn't attack the disease like it was D-Day. IMO the real cure came in the form of the elders of my church laying hands on me. I had several MRI's up to that point with zero change -not good and not bad after 4 months of chemo and I'm talking sick as a dog for days chemo. They actually put me to sleep for 3 days at a time so I could tolerate the poison they were giving me. After that night at church I had another MRI two days later that showed my cancer was completely gone. I know this isn't a board about religion but anyone that thinks God isn't real should read this post again.

Small change to my mind. Nick Saban is making 8 million a year running a college football program at the U. of Alabama. :what: 40 times the average tenured Alabama Professor's yearly salary.

Priorities are all out of whack in today's America. Everywhere.

I'm a lifer also, but I get a yearly renewal notice. Plus, I get no less than 5 e-mails a week, letters in the mail, and maybe a phone call (canned message from W. LaPierre himself) about once a month.

I give when I can, but, jeez, leave me alone.

NRA is apparently offering lifetime memberships for $500. The offer runs until Christmas Eve, according to the email I received. I'm not ready to jump on that yet, but others may be. It was a curious email; part of it was the NRA ad and the other part featured a deal on 12 gauge 00 buck from MidwayUSA.

I took the $500 lifetime deal. It's half off so I felt pretty good.

I live in Hawaii, but previously lived on the East Coast and have an Eastern time zone cell number. The problem is the NRA doesn't look at the address and tend to call at 4AM. I just let them go. My boss had the same problem. He said he yelled at them and hasn't got a call since.

It was also $500 when I got my life membership. I'd wanted to do it (life) for a long time, but couldn't see past the high price it was before these "bargains" started being offered.

Then, I did the math, and realize that even with a $500 life membership, I'll now have to live to 87 to break even. :D
