I have never had an unwanted double tap with a Bersa.

This is the first time I have heard of this phenomina. Has anyone else had this happen?

only got one eastern outfitters was open... they had a springfeild 380 an a ppk 380 walters .... still not happy springfield is heavy an bigger same w/ the ppk but i like better then springfield ..... G42 still my choice @419. eastern
have the rest of the week an then maybe we buy....? :D

$419 is not a bad price

TUTTI,

I got mine on a LEO discount, so I paid less, but around TAMPA, FL, the $419.00 price seems to be middle of the price range.

It is a good gun and worth the money.

Jim

will see two more places to check.... not so much price but just look at more that i haven't looked at... if''n they have to look
my first seen 42 was 459. so i'm do'n good'er;)

I carried a P3at for a while. After the first 50 rounds it was flawless and shot perfectly to the miniscule sights. Eventually I switched to a Taurus TCP. It is just slightly larger than the Keltec but the sights are better and the trigger on mine is also better. I have handled and shot the Kahr (nice) and Sig (nice but heavy and I don't want a single action pocket pistol). I have handled the Glock42 but not shot it. Glock's 380 is going to seem perfect to some but for me the extra bulk is a deal breaker-Might as well get someone else's compact 9mm. I carry a .380 for convenience not because of love for the cartridge. Different strokes.

yeah stumper... i've had the question why not a 9...

talking handguns the other nite my son brought over a concealed carry handguns issue 7/2014 one artical has All the compac semis for a write up.. a world of choices... from .380 thru 45's

anyway that kind of brought up another question ... he ask how i wanted to carry the G42... i hadn't thought about that yet.. was on line today an punched in holsters.. OhBoy :uhoh: ,.. how an what are all ya all carrying.. ???????

Why not a 9? Try shooting an LC9 (about the same size as the G42) and than shoot the G42 and that should answer the question.

I have a Nano, 3Pat, LCP, G26 and others, but the G42 has become my constant pocket companion. After a month, I hardly know it's in my pocket. And beside, it's a great shooter.

Oh no... i wasn't asking a question [no ?] i've been asked Y not... simple i don't want a 9... sorry !
i have colt defender.45 an a government size .45 i built, just to hard to carry concealed summertime tee shirt weather.. got those love handle.. then the lcp came along i can put it anywhere from a shirt pocket to my socks...
i happen to like the .380,...........

Handle and shoot the Kahr CT380 before you commit to the G42. You may change your mind.

done didit

well we did it.... we went for G42, i guess i had my mind pre made up

OP - Well Done and congrats. I don't think one can go far wrong with a G42. Fine pistol...accurate, dependable, concealable, robust, simple and easy.

VooDo

Thanks Guys

looks like it needs an likes heavier loads... i made some some up for the lcp an they work fine tried same bullets in the 42 an had to increase the powder charge by a grn.... no biggy i guess it has an advantage that way... :)

Well, I used to carry a Walther PPK in 32acp, but finaly upgraded to a Turkish Kirkale (Walther PP copy) in 9mmk - 380. Carried that for many years as my small carry - the Browning HP being my normal.
Several years ago I bought a Hungarian PA 63 in 9mm Makerov. Since the PA 63 is also a copy of the walther PP I have upgraded my caliber while staying with the same basik pistol.
If one wants a smaller pistol the Hungarians make a PPK copy in 9mm Makerov. Might buy one some day?
For me, since I like the Walther pistols, my needs are satisfied and I stay with a pistol that I am very familiar with while having a much better caliber.

Owned several.

One of the benefits of having a FFL is that you can try new guns. Over the last 5 years I have had the opportunity to shoot and carry over a dozen different handguns in 380 Cal. My current carry gun is a 42 Glock. Works well, conceals good, no problems. The only others that I have on my A list is the Kahr and the 238 Sig.

Not saying that they are the best, but they are the best so far.

I agree in all my 11 years of owning Bersatalk and then Bersachat. I have never had a member mention this . I might go out and see if I can get a double from any of my 3 Bersa Thunders.

Pocket carry I use a KelTec or Colt Mustang. IWB Bersa Thunder and Interarms PPK/S All loaded with Corbon DPX

It might be my grip combined with the very short trigger reset. I just rewatched a video of shooting plates from 2013. I was having trouble with the 380CC sights at 45 feet and was shooting low and was using the plates to work on a stable grip so the pistol returns to level after recoil and only letting the trigger out to reset for a faster second shot.

I had three unintentional double taps that day. The camera fell over on the one that hit the falling plate. The other two times I missed the plate and hit the deflection bar on the first DA shot and second unintentional SA shot. I can chop down the video, but all you see is the rack and hear the ding ding.

The next time I will have a buddy video my hands. Which side is better to film for a righty?

Yes that is probably why since Aperently based on the response here no one else has had this happen.

True dat. I had two of the standard .380 models, at different times a year or so apart. I decided my fingers are probably too long to work with that gun. I don't have that problem with any other gun, and I have a dozen or so much smaller than that Bersa.
As I recall, I tried to change up my grip, but the size/shape/ergos of that particular gun seemed to allow only one grip, and it didn't work with me.

Get a Glock. Not a beautiful BBQ gun but you wont be disappointed in the performance. They're even pretty accurate.
