Hi there folks!
Was fortunate enough to combine my personal interest project with my whitetail hunt this year…one of the best hunts I’ve ever had:
Hope you all had a good year, and best wishes for 2023!
Brobee
Thanks! It takes me a bit of practice before I can speak without a bunch of "uhhh, ummm, aaaahhh" getting in the way...kinda interesting how the process forces you to think about what you want to convey in your message!
That is very interesting....will experiment with it for-sure.
Hi there!
This spring I've been working on my weakest rifle shooting skill - the Snap Shot. To help with 2021-Covid-Cabin-Fever I thought it might make a good Brobee223 video...
Curious how others think about and practice their snap shots?
Best,
Brobee
Re soapmaking: it's not as much work as it appears in the video, so I would encourage you to try it f you're looking for something new to do with your deer!
Re Moose Tags in Alaska - wondering if there are any cow tags up there?
Hi Folks!
As temporary relief from all the crazy going on right now, I thought I would share my 2020 hunting project video:
Appreciate there are still places like this we can share our adventures, and hope you find it interesting.
Best,
Brobee
Do you take your utility styled shotgun out to the clay range?
Continuing our spring and summer of self-isolation, I've been giving my Marine Magnum Tac14 as good of a workout as I can muster....lately it's found itself in my hands while seeking practice on the skeet range - I thought I would...
I just realized that when I initially uploaded the video, somehow my iMovie was set to 720P. I think the value of the clay and bird shooting (seeing line and lead) is better in higher resolution, so I just uploaded the video in 1080P with the intent to remove the original. Here's a link to the...
Ha....given that at 35 yards my barrel's cylinder choke won't break a static clay who's dome is completely exposed, I'd be surprised if I could muster better than 10%! You can bet though that if I find a 14 inch barrel with a full choke or eventually get my barrel threaded I'll be giving it a...
Hi Folks!
Previously I've had a lot of fun exploring the limitations of the Mossberg 590 Shockwave - now for this spring and with some unexpected time away from work, one of my social distancing project has been to head out to the farm to shake out a Remington 870 Tac-14 marine magnum and a...
As my first-gun-ever was a shotgun and it's what I used to get my first big game animal, I've always had a fascination with shotguns. So much so that every hunting season for the past several years I've had a alot of fun making a shotgun deer hunting video for my YouTube channel. For my project...
Many thanks for your kind words folks....my daughter and I get a kick out of reading them together.
Soonermedic - we had no yeast in the stew...she mixes in some cornstarch right at the end to thicken it up a bit.
Cheers, and thanks again!
Brobee
...to no avail. She was determined that we would make rabbit stew as it is a staple in her video game minecraft and she wanted to try it in real life. *sigh*...bunny burgers will have to wait for another episode
A couple days later she wanted to complete her rifle review, so we headed back...
Appreciate your kinds words! The girls and I have a couple of hunting and cooking adventures planned...I'll show them your post and maybe they'll let me bring the camera along.
Cheers,
Brobee
An interesting question! Almost all of my rifles are scoped with low power variables - if I had the scope dialed down to 2.5 power when I took the shot, it's possible I could make a running shot with my rifle. If they are dialled up to full power (seems like they're either set on...
Hi there!
These past few years, some of my favourite projects has been to make video logs of some of my shotgun deer hunts. This year I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to make another, so here it is, flaws and all:
Hope you enjoy it....I can't wait until next year when I get to take...
We scout the old buildings by figuring out where the holes are and which ones the birds are likely to use. We then flush them a couple times and see which way they fly. Finally we come back a couple days later and set up with this info in mind.
Sometimes we get busted big time with a different...
Hey Folks!
I was fortunate enough today to see my oldest daughter hit her first bird-in-flight! Had both girls out on a pigeon hunting adventure, the oldest does the shooting and the youngest does the scouting/flushing. We brought along the cameras to make another episode for their "hunting...
Hi Folks!
If you've been following our youtube channel squirrel hunting adventures you'll know that my daughter has aspirations to go deer hunting when she finally meets the Alberta minimum age requirement of 12. She just turned 11 and I figured we better get started on developing proficiency...
Yes, I made a 12oz brass weight that slides into the stock bolt hole. I also had to make a new, longer stock bolt to accommodate the weight. I'm using the standard recoil pad that came with the gun.
Cheers,
Brobee
