    Avenging Angels

Those are absolutely beautiful! Really, really good job. I love the "working" but not quite antique look. I think I'm going to start saving some money...Maybe there will be a Remington (and another 1860) to add to this thread!

    Beretta Custom Carry

You got a good deal. They are nice guns. They are part of the original "Elite Series" from Beretta. I purchased one in 1999 and wish I never sold it. The Custom Carry is basically a Beretta 92FS Compact-L (4.3"bbl, 13rd mag) but with a single side safety for better concealment (so they say)...

Advice for slings for 870 Express Tactical

My dept uses Royal Arms bungee slings and I'm very happy with them. I'm looking for sling attachment methods and then I'll be using one on my HD 870 as well. Hundreds if not thousands of shotguns have been fielded with them and they have worked well.

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

The sling itself is pretty much high-end bungee cord. It's actually pretty cool. It was originally designed and used for breacher shotguns, but works well for regular deployment. I think their website is royalarms.com...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

Yes...Pictures of a tool that is going to be sitting in the public view of millions of people in thousands of radio cars...Must be a really big secret.... I guess all the magazines that post pictures of Kimber TLE's, SIS's, Springfield Professionals, RRA DEA models, Benelli M1014's, any...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

OK folks...Here's the scoop... I saw the new toys today and I guess I'll simply say... WOOOOWWWHOOOO! (OK, maybe a bit overdramatic but hear me out...) So lets start with a basic description and move on to the just plain cool, then to the not-so-cool, and lastly, (If I can make it...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

They have been using Ithacas with side-folders, so I figure that's probably going to be the only difference...They'll probably have the side-folders and maybe no sidesaddle. Maybe a shorter barrel but I doubt it... We have 11 of the new guns in the armory (per an e-mail) but I left before...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

Thanks for the replies...I actually use the Rob Haught technique (or at least as far as I can tell from pictures...I've never had training from him...I know it's a push/pull thing) a lot. I used it last week to clear a vehicle and I find it to be an excellent tool with the shotgun...I need to...

    Speedfeed pistolgrip/stock question

I have the speedfeed PG/Buttstock on one of my 870's and I like it. This particular 870 is my "artillary piece" and has a 6rd sidesaddle, extended 6rd tube (loaded with 4) and hogue forend. I like the SF stock. I keep 4 rds of buckshot in it and, combined with the 4 in the tube and the...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

Word came in this week that we should be receiving our first 17 870's here at the station within the next month. Apparently all new recruits are being trained/certified on the 870s, but there has been no information on when/how patrol Deputies will be trained and certified. Therefore we may...

    NYPD and Mossberg

I like the 14" barrel! That's one of the few things I wish our new shotguns had... I'm sure the 590's will work well...I never knew NYPD didn't have shotguns in their cars. Very interesting.

Why choose 8 pellet 00Buck over 9 or 12 pellet???

I think that the reduced recoil argument must also take into account the other aspects of ballistics. If I could buy a shotgun round that would minimize the potential of danger to bystanders, and would guarantee to "disappear" the bad guy, but recoiled like a "noisy cricket". i'd buy it! One...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

I like the Ithaca 37 as well, I wonder why they are being replaced? Are they that old and worn out if that is even possible. Do LASD Ithacas have the slamfire feature? The 37's are pretty worn. Some are in very good condition, and even the worn ones still work, but as any mechanical device...

    Huge LASD 870 Purchase

I dont' think there's any law prohibiting the sale of Ex-LE guns, but what the dept. chooses to do is another (and much less hopeful) matter. I talked to one of my Sgt.'s today. He's a gun-guy and former range staff. He says the shotguns will come with rifle sights. That's the only new...

Wow...That was somewhat negative...Why are LA agencies so less "gleaming" than any other agency?

Nice! I'm intrigued by the Mesa Tactical Shotshell carrier. I was told the guns would have a Knoxx Stock with shell carrier and assumed it was the Knoxx Powerpack system, which concerned me if the guns have a bead sight. I've heard some people complain about the cheek weld being too high...

    Duty Weapon

Before I would look at particular models of handguns, I’d make some criteria... First, what type of holsters are you authorized for and what security level will you use? In my case, we are currently mandated to select from an approved list of firearms, all of which have a manual...

    Unloading an Ithaca 37 Magazine

I work for the LA County Sheriff's and this method is what we use to unload the shotgun for inspection or storage. It works very well, but our old 37's are getting a bit long in the tooth. Some of them are falling apart. There's a bunch with a rear rifle sight but no front, many have no...
