Try starting with 1.23 and see how your gun likes that. You might have
to adjust the OAL to get to feed in your gun.
What works in my gun might not work in yours.
I have built 2 1911's and have used the Briley bushings in both.
For the kitchen table gunsmith, like me, it is the easyest way to fit
the barrel to the bushing.
And if the barrel to bushing fit gets loose. All you have to do is buy a
new ring and you are back it the original fit.:)
I have done some reloading for this case. Have not had much luck so
far. Biggest problem is bullet retention. Need to try and reduce the
size of my powder funnel to try and get more neck tension.
I think I might have a problem with the barrel in my gun that I built.
I have a feeling that...
What sear spring did you use?
Try taking the the hammer and sear out and see what kind of pull you
have with just the trigger.
If it is the 3 finger style. Look at the middle finger try and put a little more
bow in it. That should take some of the weight off of it.
If you used the 4...
I have done two so far. The second was on a Les Baer prefit frame and
slide. God did that save time.
Just wait till you start fitting the hammer, sear and trigger. You will
have the main spring housing in and out about 100 times. :what:
But the end result is well worth it.
Please...
Lee V Dillon
ROTFLMAO
Get the Dillon you won't regret it.
Lee = $100
Hair transplant = $4000
Dillon 550 = $350
Saving the cost of a hair transplant = Pricless :what:
You can call Stonewall in Broadview HTS. Dick Phillips is the gunsmith.
The phone number is (440) 526-0029 and ask to speak to the gunsmith.
He is there Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Satruday 9 to 4.
DING DING DING
We have a winner. Ron got it right. It is my Browning Recoilless. Just
wanting to get back in to some trap this year. Finaly got the reloader up
and running. Just had to try out some loads.
For any one wanting pics of the third S they will be going on sale on
E bay. ;)
Looks like you will need to try and find some older manuals. I did look in
my Cartridges of The World and found some data.
They list a 180 gr bullet with 19 grs of 2400 for a MV of 1870. They also
have 4227 at 20 grs for a MV of 1840 with the same bullet. The book
does not say if this...
Glad that I read this today. For I have ordered a FCD in 45 acp. And will
try it with some caution. I do reload only one brand of brass for my 45.
(R-P) Thank you for this tid bit of info.
Kmkeller why are you changing the grip safety? Does you gun have the
ridges that stick up on each side of it?
Well I guess that Sig can't build them right either. Or Smith & Wesson.
Went to the range that I work at today to hang out and BS with the guys.
And what does one push in front of me, but a brand new GSR in stainless.
He had to twist my arm to take it out and shoot it. :D
The finish on the gun is very nice, even matte stainless. The sights were
very good...
You are getting plenty of help with the brass hitting you in the head.
Let me try with the low and left problem. Since this is your first 1911
you might not be comfortable with it yet.
Have had folks shoot 50 roundsout of a USP and want to know how to adjust the sights.
Don't adjust the...
Take them to the range I work at and put them in the dud box. Or you can
put them in your gun and fire them like I did before. Some will say to spray
them down with WD40. But I have heard were people have tried this and
it did not kill the primer for very long if at all.
